Sugar & spice and all things nice, full of the things that childhood memories are made of. Wildlife hedges and hand hewn gates greet on arrival, scamper through the magical woodland, babbling stream and sunny glades with bluebell trails and views across to Pen y Fan, you won’t want to leave.

Set in a private acre or so, off down a sleepy lane, George the horse is the only neighbour. Completely away from it all, yet just a mile from Brecon, with cathedral, cafes and plenty of places to stock up…from mountain bikes to local feasts.

The perfect blend of world craftsmanship, a colourful yurt steeped in Mongolian mystery stocked full of beds for up to six, blankets, wood burner and sky window for nights spent star gazing. Supported by an oak framed bathhouse fashioned from our native British tree, proper bath tub and hand carved kitchen.

Outside it’s a wonderland, head off exploring, stumble upon the otter fashioned from a long fallen tree, discover decks with views to be believed, or simply sit back and toast another marshmallow by the fire…all utterly charming - very Swallows and Amazons!

WINE & DINE: Whether it's a country pub, or the finest of Michelin starred fayre, there is something for all tastes. RELAXING : Cosy and snug inside the yurt with wood burning stove and heaps of logs to forage in the woods. Futon beds double as chairs within the day and optional single beds as the night closes in.

THE BATH HOUSE : Home to the hot and cold water supply! A fully functioning glamping kitchen complete with worktops, gas stove, cool box and all the pots, pans and plates you should need….bathtub too for keeping clean! There is also a separate compost loo. Towels included.

OUTSIDE : Over an acre of private woodland, with large grass area, fire pit, decking area and wood land trails to explore.

STAYING CONNECTED : The yurt is off grid, there are solar lights in the bathhouse/loo and we found good mobile reception too. WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY

Rebecca, 17th August 2018

We had a great time at Otters Yurt. We would definitely go again.

Rachel, 6th August 2018

We had a wonderful week at the yurt. The only things we needed to bring were food, clothes and toiletries. Everything else was provided, including games and activities. The only (very minor) problem I had was that at night the wonderfully peaceful sound of the running stream kept making me need the toilet so we bought a battery powered radio and haRead mored that playing on low. A very peaceful, idealic place to get away from it all. Hide

Richard, 3rd August 2018

Nice peaceful and beautiful little retret perfect for a weekend off the grid with friends and family. But close enough for everthing you need. Would definetly go back.

Matthew , 9th July 2018

A perfect getaway location for any demographic. Well equipped, secluded and full of everything that you need. The yurt itself was nicely warm all day, but not too hot. The area of the yurt had plenty for a family to do. We went with an 8 year old, 4 year old and 5 month old - we could have stayed for another week quite happily. If you are thinking Read moreof booking this, go for it. Hide

What a find! The ideal way to experience 'off grid' living and getting away from electronics but with no compromise on comfort or luxuries. The yurt and kitchen cabin had everything you could possibly need, from cooking supplies to a craft box with all the items needed to make your own sail boat. The children especially enjoyed exploring the woodlaRead morend, paddling in the river and using the swings. With so much to explore in the area as well we'll definitely be making a return visit! We had a magical stay, despite the rain! The yurt is very cosy and very well kitted out. Mary and Richie are very welcoming and gave us great directions.
