Studded in a deep valley beneath the Brecon Beacons, this lovingly converted barn is perfect for large groups keen to swap the daily grind for scenic walks and tranquil surroundings.

Take ten of your favourite people and up to four canine chums to this charming, rustic property set on the grounds of a working farm. With views of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains, get lost amongst lovely countryside on long walks. With a second sitting room allowing for extra space for the kids and the addition of two ground-floor bedrooms and a walk-in wet room, this welcoming retreat is ideal for multi-generational groups looking to escape to the heart of the Welsh countryside.

Beneath the stone exterior, find spacious and light-filled interiors brimming with original features. Oak beams, vaulted ceilings, and terracotta flooring are complemented with modern fittings creating a welcoming feel. The open-plan living space is the heart of the house, where the wood burner is perfect for warming chilly toes and paws. Two sitting rooms allow adults and kids to enjoy their own space, before reuniting around the dining table for a dinner. There are four comfortable bedrooms with a range of make-ups to suit everyone. The garden is laid to lawn and perfect for the kids to let off some steam, with two pretty terraces as well enjoying far-reaching views as you sizzle up a BBQ.

Nature enthusiasts and keen walkers will love discovering the local area on foot, by bike, or on horseback, looking out for the resident red kites, peregrine falcons and buzzards that reside here. Tackle the peak of Pen-y-Fan (7.5 miles) and on the way down, visit the waterfalls at Nant Sere (3 miles), perfect for wild swimming. Just 5 miles away, the historic market town, Brecon is known for its independent shops and cafés, history, military connections and of course, the cathedral. Or treat the whole family to a day out at Cantref Adventure Farm just 1 mile away.
