With footpaths leading up the surrounding hills, this delightful cottage for four is ideal for walkers and nature enthusiasts, with the farm a haven for birds and wildlife.
Pencelli may be a quintessential village but it’s certainly not short of opportunities for adventure. The surrounding Brecon Beacons is a playground for outdoor pursuits, whether you are tempted by walking, water sports or family cycle trips. Your homely abode sleeps four and is an excellent base for couples and small families, placing you close to the popular village inn and exciting outdoor education centre. For hardened explorers, Pen y Fan looms in the distance, but it is also a treat to admire over a glass of wine in the pub garden.
The entire cottage is packed with character thanks to the stone walls, timber beams and accessories, and if you peer out of the window, you’ll see the beautiful countryside stretching in all directions. Traditional in style and thoughtfully furnished, you’ll feel right at home in the cosy lounge. Light the coal-effect fire and choose a sofa to curl up on with a coffee, switching on the TV to watch a film. Rustle up a feast in the farmhouse-style kitchen and gather around the table for mealtimes, retiring for the night to one of two first-floor bedrooms. Outside, the lawn isn’t completely enclosed but it’s ideal for children to play on the swings and there is a sheltered area for all-weather dining.
Access a plethora of trails from your doorstep and navigate the stunning landscape of the Usk Valley and Brecon Beacons. Those who prefer gentle strolls peppered with cafe stops will appreciate the proximity of Brecon (5 miles), Crickhowell (11 miles) and Abergavenny (17 miles), and there’s plenty of options for soaking up some local history as you explore the pretty streets. The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal passes through the village, providing an excellent starting route for a scenic ramble or bike ride in either direction.
