Delightfully unique lodge in the heart of the Welsh countryside, with panoramic views of the surrounding valleys, close proximity to the Brecon Beacons and a generous selection of fishing opportunities nearby.
Surround yourself in the rolling green hills of Powys at this rustic lodge sitting on a complex of properties just outside the village of Clyro. This lovely hideaway on a working farm sleeps six people across three bedrooms and welcomes two canine companions. It’s ideal for families or groups of friends who want to spend their days exploring the Brecon Beacons, and their evenings soaking up the views from the lodge’s balcony.
Wake up and enjoy your morning coffee on the balcony, which is the perfect place to plan your day ahead. After a day exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park, come home and head to the kitchen in the open-plan living space. This spacious area – consisting of the kitchen, dining area and living room – boasts a cosy log cabin aesthetic throughout. Cook up a feast for your loved ones and gather everyone around the dining table. Alternatively, head to the garden, fire-up the BBQ and enjoy an al fresco dinner. The garden is fully enclosed, so if you have the kids or the dogs with you, you can rest assured that they can play safely. After dinner, sink into a sofa by the wood burner in the living area, before retiring to one of three lovely lodge-style bedrooms on the ground-floor.
Explore the River Wye by a kayak or canoe at Glasbury (6.5 miles). Back on dry land, you’ll find a lovely cafe on the riverside, so sit back and enjoy a local ale on its deck. Foodies will love the water-powered flour mill at Talgarth Mill (10.5 miles). Make sure you stop off in the bakery and grab some pies and cakes to take back to the lodge. Or spend a day browsing the bookstores in Hay-on-Wye (3.5 miles). Thursdays are particularly lively, as it’s market day.
