Stunning house and garden for friends and family in the heart of New Quay. A short walk to the harbour, beaches, shops and pubs. A great base for you all to explore the best of Wales whatever the season.
Wake up to the smell of sea air at this fabulous property, in the heart of New Quay. The town has everything you could hope for from a traditional Welsh seafaring community, including a picture-postcard harbour, sandy beaches, characterful pubs and plenty of restaurants serving delicious ‘pysgod a sglodion’, aka fish and chips. From the harbour, hop on a boat to go dolphin spotting off the shore, or take a stroll along the clifftops to witness the most spectacular views over Cardigan Bay.
The spacious period property, which boasts distant sea views, sleeps eight guests and has ample room for socialising. The open-plan lounge/diner is bright and airy and is a great place for hosting celebrations. Gather around the large dining table for a tasty meal featuring fresh local produce, washed down with a couple of glasses of Welsh gwin. Afterwards, recline on the plump sofas to watch a film on the Smart TV or challenge your fellow guests to a table tennis match or pool tournament in the games room. The enclosed garden is a real sun trap during the day and is a beautiful place to sit and watch the sea. There’s also a handy dog kennel if required.
Slip into a slower pace of life with a wander around the narrow streets of New Quay. Explore the independent shops and cafes, before heading to the harbour to sit on the sand and watch the fishing vessels and pleasure boats going about their day. From here, catch a boat to go wildlife watching along the spectacular heritage coast. If you don’t have sea legs, it’s still possible to spot bottlenose dolphins playing beyond the harbour wall most days during the summer. At the end of the day, grab a pint in the cosy pub once frequented by Dylan Thomas, who used to live in the town.
