Secretly secluded amongst 30 acres of tranquil farmland close to the England and Wales border, this gorgeous Grade II listed barn has vaulted ceilings and wooden beams throughout, adorning the hideaway with heaps of rustic charm and rural enchantment. Entering the hallway, you can leave your coats and boots at the door, walking into a beautifully light space that sets the tone for the rest of the property.
Leading you straight into the hub of the house, you will find yourself in the kitchen/diner; this wonderfully large room features the same rustic beams and exposed walls that add such depth of character to the rest of the house, providing you with an utterly gorgeous space in which to cook and entertain during your stay. Perfectly equipped for you to utilise fresh local goods and create a culinary masterpiece, there is an electric oven and induction hob, microwave and fridge, plus you’ll also find a dishwasher, so you won’t even have to clean the dirty dishes afterwards! There is also a utility room with a fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer if you need to do any washing, and a WC.
The traditional feel of the room is finished off with an elegant dining table and chairs to seat up to eight people, so your whole family or group can enjoy a celebratory meal together, with the light flooding in from the windows all around upon your feast.
Taking the stairs down to the lounge, beautiful beams and wooden-framed windows all help make the room feel utterly cosy as can be. Light the wood burner to add to the ambience, and curl up together on one of the sofas to enjoy a film on the Smart TV/DVD, snuggling up with views across the countryside from every window, or listen to your favourite music via the Bluetooth wireless docking station, which is iPAD, iPhone and iPod compatible.
When the time comes to rest weary heads, climb the stairs to find the four bedrooms, each of which oozes charm and has its own unique character, providing a homely retreat for all who sleep there. The master bedroom boasts ample space, with the king-size bed taking centre stage ready for you to sink into the sheets and get some much-deserved beauty sleep. It also benefits from an en-suite shower room, so you can truly relax within the comfort of your own bedroom without venturing outside its four walls.
Further on, you will find the second bedroom, decked in the same warm traditional décor as the master room but featuring a double bed, which though smaller is equally as sumptuous for a good night’s rest. The final two rooms feature twin beds in each, with slanted beamed ceilings creating a truly snug and inviting space in which to retire and relax after a long day of exploration.
The family bathroom is wonderfully styled in keeping with the rest of the home, providing a charming space to draw a bath and sink into the bubbles, or rinse away your stresses under the shower.
Not only do you have splendid scenery all around you to gaze upon from within the abode, but once outside, 30 acres of farmland envelop the barn, of which you can roam freely along the well-marked footpaths, and enjoy the specially built play area, equipped with tree house, tubular slide, two rope swings, picnic table and BBQ area. Just outside the barn itself within the enclosed garden area, there is a table and chairs for dining alfresco, where you can also sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of the wildlife of a morning as the sun rises. There is also a fire pit/BBQ for your delectation.
