Following the curved boardwalk towards the entrance of the lodge, borders of wildflowers and ferns define your entryway, leading you towards the doorway of your idyllic bolthole.

Stepping inside, you will discover a beautifully light and stunningly spacious room, that offers not only a bright and airy place to relax, but is also cosy enough of an evening to provide a snug and homely space to unwind. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner boasts stylish décor with exquisite detailing; the large corner sofa is adorned with comfortable cushions for you to sink into and snuggle up after a day of exploring, from which you can gaze out upon the picturesque landscape, or relax watching your favourite film.

Bi-fold doors flood the room with light, with the dining table perfectly placed to enjoy a meal with a full view of the rolling hills all around. Take a seat at the gorgeous table to indulge in a delicious home-cooked meal using delectable local ingredients. The traditional yet stylish kitchen is beautifully fitted, with subtle, neutral tones complimenting the character of the property perfectly, and is fully-equipped for you to whip up a storm using your culinary skills.

The furniture and beams throughout are constructed from locally sourced Douglas fir and ash, meticulously finished to provide the finest quality, whilst the thoughtful addition of underfloor heating and a cosy wood burner means you’ll be warm and toasty all year round.

Down the corridor from the kitchen you will find the exquisite and spacious bedroom. The handcrafted whitewashed bedstead holds a sumptuous super-king-size mattress, where you can lie back and sink into its soft linen and plush pillows, drifting into a deep slumber after a long day of discovery. The luxurious en-suite shower room means you can be soothed by the warm waters of the jets to ease your stresses away, wrapping up in a soft, fluffy towel once you step out.

The outside space of this lovely lodge offers you utter tranquillity, enveloped in a patchwork of emerald hills and immaculate fields to gaze upon as the sun sets. Take a seat on the decking and sip a morning coffee as the wildlife wakes up around you, lie back in the relaxing hammock to soak up the sunshine, or snuggle up around the fire pit and gaze up at the twinkling night sky with a glass of bubbly.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

WALKING & CYCLING: The rural location of this property nestled within the owners’ seven-acre home offers the perfect placement for countryside strolls along one of the plethora of footpaths that meander through the hills, or perhaps you would rather use some pedal power to cycle with the wind in your hair. There is so much spectacular landscape to discover right on your doorstep, so whether you choose to explore on foot or two wheels, you won’t be disappointed by the adventure and spectacle that awaits.

CASTLES & CULTURE: You will find yourself based in an area enveloped in culture! Take a trip to Hergest Croft Gardens to witness breath-taking flora and fauna in all the colours of the rainbow, or visit the Red Kite Feeding Station to see the majestic birds take flight. There are some impressive dams and reservoirs throughout the Elan and Claerwan Valleys, so be sure to amble down to observe their grandeur.

TOUR THE TOWNS: If you're looking to escape the rurality of the countryside, there are plenty of idyllic towns to explore nearby. Hay-on-Wye is home to an abundance of gorgeous shops, art galleries and, of course, is a literary haven with a profusion of book shops scattered throughout. Llandrindod Wells is also close to your little lodge, itself a Victorian spa town with 30 natural springs and a pretty, picturesque lake, whilst Bulith Wells offers exquisite scenery.

FINE FAYRE: Some wonderful eateries surround this property ready to tantalise your taste buds, particularly in the nearby idyllic town of Llandrindod Wells, so you can give your culinary skills a rest and let someone else do the hard work! Sugar and Spice is just a pootle along into the town itself, boasting a unique dining experience and a combination of local and exotic ingredients. For a wonderful vegetarian option and a relaxed atmosphere, Herb Garden Cafe offers a delectable variety of dishes to suit everyone. It's a charming place to head for a truly delicious lunch!

SLEEPS: There is one bedroom with a super-king-size bed. Bed linen is provided for your stay. RELAXING: Electric and underfloor heating and Wi-Fi is included for your stay.

COOKING & DINING: There is a gas oven and hob, fridge and dishwasher.

Skylark Lodge. Well equipped, contemporary lodge with absolutely stunning views of of the surrounding fields and hills. Very private and peaceful and dog friendly. Lots of local walks and only a mile out of town at the top of the hill by the golf club. Lovely outside space via bi-fold doors with decking area, hammock and firepit.

Skylark Lodge was all we hoped it would be and more. It was warm, stylish and very welcoming. We really looked forward to returning to it after a day exploring the countryside. Beautiful lodge in a stunning setting. The Lodge was very clean & well equipped, with a very comfortable bed. The location is lovely & secluded with views over fields towards the hills.
