This Victorian spa town is a pleasure to visit with picturesque lake, 30 natural springs, pavilion and range of events, shops and eateries to enjoy alongside the National Cycle Museum and Radnorshire Museum, not forgetting its renowned golf club. Explore the spectacular dams and reservoirs of the Elan and Claerwen Valleys, visit the Red Kite Feeding Station at Gigrin Farm, head to the internationally renowned Hergest Croft Gardens, go book hunting in Hay-on-Wye or take the Old Mountain Road to Aberystwyth. Set in breath-taking countryside full of footpaths, cycle routes and bridleways to explore and enjoy walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, wildlife watching, photography, arts, crafts, music and events. A perfect spot for two to unwind or seek adventure in Mid Wales.

Down the curved wooden boardwalk, sided by wildflowers and plants, you enter this cedar clad lodge and will be drawn to the stunning views through the bi-fold doors opening on to an inviting private deck .The spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is beautifully furnished with tables and beams made from locally grown Douglas Fir and Ash. Comfort is considered a priority with all the thoughtful little extras for year round comfort such as the underfloor heating and the cosy wood burner. The kitchen area is well-equipped with gas oven and hob, dishwasher and fridge with ice compartment. If you decide to have a romantic meal in, the table is perfectly positioned to embrace the fabulous view. Snuggle up and relax on the comfortable sofa watch the wildlife, choose a film, plan your activities for tomorrow or enjoy a good book. The sumptuous bedroom has a super-king-size hand crafted bed and a luxury en-suite shower with WC and soft towels. This special property is a truely romantic retreat.

Outside the garden is naturally designed with wild flowers, grassy mounds and is surrounded by rolling countryside and wildlife. The patio deck, with table and chairs, is the perfect spot to relax and unwind, enjoy alfresco dining or head to the private raised seating area by the fire pit to watch the wildlife or appreciate the dark skies stargazing. If you are keen on cycling or golf there is a secure bicycle store with wash down facilities, washing machine and drying facilities for wet boots and clothes, you can also find an "enclosed" area in the garden for the dogs. Private drive with off-road parking for one car. The lodge is set in two acres of grounds and maintains its own privacy, adjacent to the owners’ seven acre home and stables.

WALKING & CYCLING: The rural location of this property nestled within the owners’ seven-acre home offers the perfect placement for countryside strolls along one of the plethora of footpaths that meander through the hills, or perhaps you would rather use some pedal power to cycle with the wind in your hair. There is so much spectacular landscape to discover right on your doorstep, so whether you choose to explore on foot or two wheels, you won’t be disappointed by the adventure and spectacle that awaits.

CASTLES & CULTURE: You will find yourself based in an area enveloped in culture! Take a trip to Hergest Croft Gardens to witness breath-taking flora and fauna in all the colours of the rainbow, or visit the Red Kite Feeding Station to see the majestic birds take flight. There are some impressive dams and reservoirs throughout the Elan and Claerwan Valleys, so be sure to amble down to observe their grandeur.

TOUR THE TOWNS: If you're looking to escape the rurality of the countryside, there are plenty of idyllic towns to explore nearby. Hay-on-Wye is home to an abundance of gorgeous shops, art galleries and, of course, is a literary haven with a profusion of book shops scattered throughout. Llandrindod Wells is also close to your little lodge, itself a Victorian spa town with 30 natural springs and a pretty, picturesque lake, whilst Bulith Wells offers exquisite scenery.

FINE FAYRE: Some wonderful eateries surround this property ready to tantalise your taste buds, particularly in the nearby idyllic town of Llandrindod Wells, so you can give your culinary skills a rest and let someone else do the hard work! Sugar and Spice is just a pootle along into the town itself, boasting a unique dining experience and a combination of local and exotic ingredients. For a wonderful vegetarian option and a relaxed atmosphere, Herb Garden Cafe offers a delectable variety of dishes to suit everyone. It's a charming place to head for a truly delicious lunch!

SLEEPS: There is one bedroom with a super-king-size bed. Bed linen is provided for your stay. RELAXING: Electric and underfloor heating and Wi-Fi is included for your stay.

COOKING & DINING: There is a gas oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment and dishwasher.

KEEPING CLEAN: There is one en-suite shower room. Towels are provided for your stay as well as dressing gowns.

OUTSIDE: The outside space boasts a delightful decked area with seating, and a private fire pit perfect for night time cuddles beneath starry skies. There is also a private drive with off-road parking for one car, and bicycle storage along with wash-down facilities, drying facilities and a washing machine.

Great eco- lodge with wonderful views. Well designed, tasteful and super convenient ( except kitchen) Very Well equipped ( except kitchen) Amazingly comfortable mattress, great cosy sofa. The temperature is affected by underfloor heating AND sun through glass so when I arrived on cold, cloudy day the lodge was cold but warmed up very quickly by turRead morening up thermostat. Situated on a quiet hill above Llandrindod Wells, Skylark Lodge sits alongside another larger lodge but far enough away for privacy. Its perfect for a couple, with a large comfy sofa and huge comfy bed. Warm and cosy inside with a lovely verandah for fine days.

Beautiful lodge in a great location. Plenty of walks available, either starting from the door or from the lake just a few minutes down the road. Skylark Lodge was so nice that we really didnt mind staying indoors when the weather wasnt so great, and having access to Netflix was a pleasant surprise.
