There are many traditional market towns to include Hay-on-Wye known as the town of books and home of the renowned literary festival.
This cottage has been finished with a contemporary style, the owners are art-designers, and this has had a great influence on the overall style. The side entrance will give access to the kitchen equipped with double electric oven and induction hob, fridge, dishwasher and Nespresso machine. A rustic table and chairs which is perfect for a quick morning coffee. For more formal dining a dining room finished in rich colours, warmed with a wood burner and overlooking the gardens. For relaxing a spacious lounge with large sofas which you can sink back into in front of the wood burner along with a TV and DVD player. The original front door opens onto the cottage gardens which is perfect for entertaining. There is also a utility room with freezer and washer/dryer and a shower room with shower and WC. So, when the day is done climb the stairs where you will find two bedrooms, both king size rooms enjoying garden views. The enclosed garden is pretty, with rose-clad walls, acers, laurels and alliums, attracting a wide variety of birds. When the sun shines, it is in the garden for most of the day, and plenty of places to sit out mean that you can enjoy both sun and shade. There is parking for 2 cars. For wine enthusiasts why not visit the owner’s vineyard where you can sample the local wines and enjoy a tasting and vineyard walk (by prior arrangement and time of year).
