Relax in peace and five star quiet amongst meadows, woodland and bird song. A dreamy NGS garden, wild swimming pond to splash in, trampoline (not available during the winter months) for the kids and the Brecon Beacons in easy reach. For two people this is a romantic, rural retreat.

Market towns abound, Abergavenny, home to Wales foodie movement, the closest, Crickhowell and Monmouth nearby too, or take a drive through the mountains for a day trip to Hay on Wye, of literary festival fame and a great location for holiday shopping. For outdoor enthusiasts, the cottage is within easy reach of the beautiful Wye Valley for lazy days paddling on the river, or stride out for the hills within the National Park, there’s bike hire and pony trekking widely available.

Enter this beautiful property into the warm and stylish kitchen area, where there is space to hang your coats and kick off your boots. The kitchen is well-equipped offering a double electric oven and five ring gas hob, microwave, fridge and freezer. There is also a useful utility room just off this, along with a ground floor WC. Continue through to the open-plan lounge/dining room, which offers a wonderful rustic, French feel throughout. Enjoy the open fire on those chillier evenings and sink back into the squishy sofa with a good book. The patio doors allow plenty of natural light into the room, and lead onto the private patio area overlooking the lawns. There is a gorgeous winding staircase to your right from the lounge, leading up to two en-suite bedrooms. There is 1 king-size with en-suite bathroom, and 1 twin with en-suite shower room.

Outside there are acres of garden to explore, outside furniture provided, a BBQ, and a large natural swimming pond in the field just below the property. Endless hours of fun for everyone!  Ample parking is available just in front of the property, and there is also a bike shed and boot room to the side of the property.

The Billiard Room is our favourite place to stay in Wales as it feels remote but isn't actually too far from Abergavenny and Crickhowell. The views are amazing and just stepping out of the car you feel a weight lifting from your shoulders. The cottage felt very warm this time and it is always handy to have a drying room available after being out inRead more the hills nearby. Colin, the gardener, is always keen to help out with any questions and can recommend some places to visit. Hide

We spent the week of Christmas cosily ensconced in the comfort of this delightful and peaceful cottage. No room disappoints as each one is comfortably furnished, well decorated, equipped and maintained. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. A very nice gesture was the generous welcome pack that was there for us - eggs, butter, milk, fRead moreruit juice etc. Set in beautiful countryside this really was the ideal retreat where we could relax and unwind. We would love to return one day. Hide
