WALKING & CYCLING: With the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley in one direction and the Brecon Beacons National Park in the other, you are spoilt for choice! There are gentler strolls nearer to the farm and along the River Usk and cyclists will love it! Home to the National Road Champs earlier in 2014, there are impressive road routes around the lanes and equally great bike parks and off road routes in the Forest of Dean.

TOWNS & VILLAGES: The quaint country towns of Usk and Raglan are the closest, Raglan has a very good butchers! Abergavenny and Monmouth are both larger market towns within easy reach, weekly markets and a Waitrose supermarket for essentials! Abergavenny has a particularly good food festival each September.

CASTLES & CULTURE: The Welsh borderlands are full of myths and ancient relics. A trip to Tintern Abbey is well worth it and easily combined with a visit to Chepstow Castle, with the oldest castle doors left in Europe! The Roman Fortress in Caerleon is also worth a visit (free entry) and gives a pretty impressive vision of second century Roman Britain.

ROMANCE IN THE AIR: There is a local hot balloon ride company, offering flights over the Vale of Usk and Wye Valley...champagne included!

FABULOUS FAYRE: Monmouthshire prides itself on being the Food County of Wales, and with nearby restaurants such as Michelin starred The Walnut Tree Inn & The Crown at Whitebrook, great fayre at the Hardwick and delicious high tea at The Angel, we reckon you'll agree! Even the local indian takeaway in Monmouth is award winning!

FORAGE FOR YOUR FAYRE: The Foxhunter Restaurant is well worth a visit any time of the year, in autumn months, try a foraging day with local legend Raoul, who will help you forage for your food, which can then be cooked into a delicious lunch at the restaurant.

SLEEPS 2 (sorry no children) : King-size bed, with very comfortable mattress, crisp linen and marshmallow duvet, bedding and towels included.

LIVING SPACE:  This neatly converted bull pen is mostly sumptuous king-size bedroom, with a deftly designed kitchenette including 2 ring electric hob, fridge, toaster and kettle, and en-suite shower room and loo.  The kitchenette is perfect for simple, minimal meals.  For lazier, more substantial fayre there is a plethora of good country pubs and a smattering of more discerning gastro pubs just a short drive away.

BATHROOM: There is a crisp, new bathroom, complete with basin, loo and good shower. Towels of course included.

BREAKFAST: A yummy breakfast hamper of Continental style goodies is included in the price of your stay. The option to "upgrade" your breakfast to include a range of fresh eggs and meat from the farm is also available on arrival.

PETS: One well behaved and trained dog is very welcome.

OUTSIDE SPACE:  A Weber BBQ is provided on the patio for al fresco dining whenever the mood takes you.  There is ample parking for cars and bike storage available. A private terrace directly outside the B&B is fenced away from the owners farmhouse for your privacy and has pretty countryside views across the fields. There is an outdoor table and chairs available too, as well as a private outdoor storage shed big enough for pushbikes / dog crates /wellies etc.

HOLIDAY PREPARATION: We would advise to contact local amenities directly, such as shops, restaurants, pubs and attractions, to confirm the latest opening times and availability.

Beautiful out of the way location, lovely little cottage, accommodating and wonderful hosts. Fresh bread and pastries for breakfast are amazing in the morning, best smell to wake up too. Covid safe. So quiet and peaceful, would recommend stay.

What a find on our first trip to the Brecon Beacons. We loved the location, very quiet. The stars at night when not obscured by cloud were 'stellar'. The accessability to the Brecons was easy. The B&B was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The hosts were friendly and approachable. Breakfast of fresh warm bread and farm eggs was a treaRead moret. Loved our short break. Can highly recommend this B&B. Hide

We had a fantastic stay and were really impressed with the B&B. The little touches made it so special and we can't recommend getting the Welsh breakfast upgrade enough - so lovely! Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the Welsh countryside, although you definitely need a car. Please note, the hot tub is no longer availabRead morele but the terrace is super private and there is use of a bbq which was great too. Hide

This place is a hidden gem. Really lovely area with some great country pubs around. The owners were very respectful of our privacy; and if it wasnt for the wonderful baked goods in the morning left to us, you wouldnt even know you were on their farm. Absolutely wonderful stay, and the hot tub is seriously good... possibly even too good! Cannot faulRead moret this place at all. HIGHLY recommend; and if in the area again, will absolutely be staying again if available. Hide

The hostess has thought of everything we needed, even though she stated she had to remove things due to COVID measures. There was nothing we needed that we didnt have and the freshly made breakfasts everyday were such a special touch. We had a lovely and relaxing holiday and will definitely look to return to explore more of the area. Thank you
