WALKING & CYCLING: With the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley in one direction and the Brecon Beacons National Park in the other, you are spoilt for choice! There are gentler strolls nearer to the farm and along the River Usk and cyclists will love it! Home to the National Road Champs earlier in 2014, there are impressive road routes around the lanes and equally great bike parks and off road routes in the Forest of Dean.

TOWNS & VILLAGES: The quaint country towns of Usk and Raglan are the closest, Raglan has a very good butchers! Abergavenny and Monmouth are both larger market towns within easy reach, weekly markets and a Waitrose supermarket for essentials! Abergavenny has a particularly good food festival each September.

CASTLES & CULTURE: The Welsh borderlands are full of myths and ancient relics. A trip to Tintern Abbey is well worth it and easily combined with a visit to Chepstow Castle, with the oldest castle doors left in Europe! The Roman Fortress in Caerleon is also worth a visit (free entry) and gives a pretty impressive vision of second century Roman Britain.

ROMANCE IN THE AIR: There is a local hot balloon ride company, offering flights over the Vale of Usk and Wye Valley...champagne included!

FABULOUS FAYRE: Monmouthshire prides itself on being the Food County of Wales, and with nearby restaurants such as Michelin starred The Walnut Tree Inn & The Crown at Whitebrook, great fayre at the Hardwick and delicious high tea at The Angel, we reckon you'll agree! Even the local indian takeaway in Monmouth is award winning!

FORAGE FOR YOUR FAYRE: The Foxhunter Restaurant is well worth a visit any time of the year, in autumn months, try a foraging day with local legend Raoul, who will help you forage for your food, which can then be cooked into a delicious lunch at the restaurant.

SLEEPS 2 (sorry no children) : King-size bed, with very comfortable mattress, crisp linen and marshmallow duvet, bedding and towels included.
