Fantastic fishing nearby on the River Usk, with day permits available in Usk. Kayaking and Canoeing readily available on the River Wye. There are castles littered around the Monmouthshire countryside, Raglan Castle is just a few short miles away, or a day trip around the trio of Whitecastle, Grosmont and Skenfrith Castles.
The shepherd hut offers open-plan living: 1 double bed with woodburner (logs included). Shower room: with shower and WC. Kitchen/dining area: with small fridge, mini electric oven and hob, kettle, coffee machine, butler sink, radio and Bluetooth speaker. Outside: Large enclosed garden, fire pit BBQ, outdoor chairs and hammock, with natural pond in the wider grounds of the owners property. Amenities: parking, bed linen, towels, hairdryer and electric sockets included. Regret no smoking. 1 dog welcome. Arrival: 4pm

HISTORIC WALES: There are castles almost littered around the Monmouthshire countryside, Raglan Castle is just a few short miles away, or a day trip around the trio of Whitecastle, Grosmont and Skenfrith Castles is worthwhile and makes a great cycle ride, ending with a pint or two at The Bell at Skenfrith. Majestic Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle , or the impressive Roman sites at both Caerleon & Caerwent are also worthy of a visit.
FISHING & SPLASHING: Fantastic fishing nearby on the River Usk, with day permits available from local store, Sweets in Usk. Kayaking and Canoeing readily available on the River Wye.
FUN IN THE FOREST: The Forest of Dean is within easy reach, with Go Ape, offering tree top adventures for the brave and Segway hire for those preferring to explore on wheels! Perfect for picnics by the lake, mountain bike (hire available) and walking trials through the woods. Historic Clearwell Caves within the Forest are giant tin mining caverns well worth a visit & the enchanting Puzzlewood has provided the backdrop for scenes from the recent Star Wars, Dr Who and Harry Potter, as well as having provided plentiful inspiration for JRR Tolkien.
FODDER & FEAST: Usk Farmers Market every second Saturday is one of the best in Wales, Monmouth is on the other Saturdays. Great country pubs either by foot, or plenty of choice within 10 minutes drive including popular local, The Raglan Arms. Michelin star restaurants The Walnut Tree in Abergavenny and The Whitebrook in the Wye Valley, plus the Hardwick and Foxhunter all well worth a try.
FAB FOR FESTIVALS: Well placed for day trips to the Hay Literary Festival, Green Man music festival, Abergavenny Food Festival, as well as a busy racing calendar at Chepstow Racecourse, including the Welsh Grand National.
SLEEPS 2 : A cosy double bed, with proper mattress, crisp linen, electric lighting and en-suite shower, with lashings of hot and cold running water and towels included.
RELAXING : A fully equipped hut, with two comfy chairs, a wood burning stove (logs included), radio, Bluetooth speaker, dining table and benches.
COOKING: Hand made kitchen with butler sink, small fridge, storage space, kettle, coffee machine, tea, coffee, sugar, cutlery, crockery and everything else you would need to rustle up a decent meal.
OUTDOORS : Surrounded by rolling farmland, the Cwtch Hut sits within a large enclosed private garden with a natural pond, in the wider grounds of the owners property.
PRACTICAL STUFF: Hot water on tap, electric sockets, hairdryer and mobile signal on most networks.
PETS: One dog is really welcome, the huts are in an enclosed "garden" area.
