The perfect hidden escape from the city, you'd never guess you were just twenty minutes from the Severn Bridge. Rolling countryside and castles galore, all easily explored from the cosiest of huts, beautifully designed and considered for the most indulgent of cwtching weekends...that's Welsh for a jolly good cuddle!

In the prettiest of farm settings, you might catch sight of a pony or two ambling its way up the track, the gentle bleet of a sheep in the morning, or hoot of an owl over night...or simply sit by the fire-pit toasting marshmallows and watching the ducks crash land on the pond.

A testament to local craftsmanship, with every comfort considered, inside it's a little like a Tardis and you'll wonder how so much can fit in.

A perfect hand-made kitchen with wooden units, butler sink and fridge, there's even a proper kettle and stove for rustling up some yummy local fayre. Cosy chairs either side of the log burner, generously stacked with wood, a dining table booth with storage, all discovered before you've even got to the cwtching part.

A generous bed spans the width of the hut, with proper door so you can snuggle away amongst the crisp linen and cosy blankets. Complete with electric shower and proper flushing loo, again, all considerately tucked away.

Step back out of the door to the deck, gallons of fresh air and rolling fields, when you tire of the hammock and fire pit, the local pub is simply a stroll away. Perfectly nestled between the Wye Valley in one direction and the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park in the other, there's plenty to head out and explore...with a pooch very welcome to come too.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

WALKING & BIKING: Fabulous walks from the door, including a stroll down the lane to the local pub. Discover the Brecon Beacons National Park in one direction, and the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean in the other. Plenty of trails for the most adventurous of travellers.

HISTORIC WALES: There are castles almost littered around the Monmouthshire countryside, Raglan Castle is just a few short miles away, or a day trip around the trio of Whitecastle, Grosmont and Skenfrith Castles is worthwhile and makes a great cycle ride, ending with a pint or two at The Bell at Skenfrith. Majestic Tintern Abbey and Chepstow Castle , or the impressive Roman sites at both Caerleon & Caerwent are also worthy of a visit.

FISHING & SPLASHING: Fantastic fishing nearby on the River Usk, with day permits available from local store, Sweets in Usk. Kayaking and Canoeing readily available on the River Wye.

FUN IN THE FOREST: The Forest of Dean is within easy reach, with Go Ape, offering tree top adventures for the brave and Segway hire for those preferring to explore on wheels! Perfect for picnics by the lake, mountain bike (hire available) and walking trials through the woods. Historic Clearwell Caves within the Forest are giant tin mining caverns well worth a visit & the enchanting Puzzlewood has provided the backdrop for scenes from the recent Star Wars, Dr Who and Harry Potter, as well as having provided plentiful inspiration for JRR Tolkien.

FODDER & FEAST: Usk Farmers Market every second Saturday is one of the best in Wales, Monmouth is on the other Saturdays. Great country pubs either by foot, or plenty of choice within 10 minutes drive including popular local, The Raglan Arms. Michelin star restaurants The Walnut Tree in Abergavenny and The Whitebrook in the Wye Valley, plus the Hardwick and Foxhunter all well worth a try.

FAB FOR FESTIVALS: Well placed for day trips to the Hay Literary Festival, Green Man music festival, Abergavenny Food Festival, as well as a busy racing calendar at Chepstow Racecourse, including the Welsh Grand National.

SLEEPS 2 : A cosy double bed, with proper mattress, crisp linen, electric lighting and en-suite shower, with lashings of hot and cold running water and towels included.

RELAXING : A fully equipped hut, with two comfy chairs, a wood burning stove (logs included), radio, Bluetooth speaker, dining table and benches.

COOKING: Hand made kitchen with butler sink, small fridge, storage space, kettle, coffee machine, tea, coffee, sugar, cutlery, crockery and everything else you would need to rustle up a decent meal.

OUTDOORS : Surrounded by rolling farmland, the Cwtch Hut sits within a large enclosed private garden with a natural pond, in the wider grounds of the owners property.

PRACTICAL STUFF: Hot water on tap, electric sockets, hairdryer and mobile signal on most networks.

PETS: A well behaved dog is really welcome, the huts are in an enclosed "garden" area.
