Enjoy a romantic retreat to this exquisite shepherd’s hut in an idyllic setting, near Tregaron, in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains in West Wales. Up to two people, and three delighted dogs can stay at the unique holiday home, which is tucked away in a scenic meadow beside gorgeous bluebell woods. Perfect for couples, this is somewhere from which you can indulge in wildlife walks; stroll into the market town to go shopping or to dine out; and venture about 12 miles to the coast to go to the beach.
Cross the pretty meadow and climb the steps up into the shepherd’s hut. Find yourselves in a beautiful lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom space, where you can rest, relax and enjoy each other’s company. Light the wood burner in here when the weather is chilly or keep the door open on warm days for views of the lovely scenery. Prepare light meals on the hob to eat inside or out then enjoy the comfort of the double bed. Find your shower and an eco-friendly, compost WC in a separate hut close by, and cook out on the BBQ on summer evenings. There is storage for bicycles at the hut and plenty of parking.
Lace up your walking boots and head off to the Cors Caron National Nature Reserve, with its many species of bird. Cycle along a section of the picturesque Tregaron to Llanwrtyd Wells mountain road, with its panoramic views across Abergwesyn Common. Make a trip to the Dolaucothi Gold Mines, 15 miles away. These are ancient Roman surface and underground mines in the River Cothi Valley, near Pumsaint. Drive 12 miles into Aberaeron to go to the beach, walk beside the harbour and wander around the shops. Keen walkers might also like to attempt a section of the Wales Coast Path for breathtaking coastal views.
