A stylish bespoke timber lodge that’s perfect for four, beautifully finished with locally sourced materials and an eclectic style, offering a warm and friendly welcome to all that come to stay.
This quirky rural bolthole in the hamlet of Ledwyche is the ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life and embrace the great outdoors. The lodge benefits from unspoilt countryside views and you can enjoy peaceful walks from the property, along country lanes and across farmland. You’ll also have the wide expanse of the beautiful Shropshire Hills just a short car journey away (2 miles). The thriving medieval market town of Ludlow is 1 mile from the lodge.
The timber lodge is set within a mature meadow, in the grounds of the owner’s smallholding. Decorated in an eclectic style, modern soft furnishings and chic light fittings sit alongside traditional country-cottage fabrics. In the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, beautiful, exposed wood and brickwork add rustic charm and the cosy wood burner provides a snuggly spot to curl up with a good book at the end of a busy day. Outside, say ‘bore da’ with a morning coffee on the decked veranda or relax on the bench in the sunshine in your enclosed garden. There’s also handy undercover bike storage.
You’ll find plenty to see and do in the nearby market town of Ludlow. Stroll around the narrow streets admiring the impressive buildings, haggle a bargain at one of the regular open-air markets and enjoy a picnic by the river on the luscious Millennium Green. It’s also worth taking the time to potter around Ludlow Castle, high above the River Teme. The castle is a fine example of Norman, Medieval and Tudor architecture and has an intriguing history to uncover. Another fascinating place to while away a few hours is Witley Court and Gardens (20 miles). The spectacular ruin of the once-grand mansion is a sight to behold, and the restored gardens make the perfect spot for a picnic.
