Visit Wales 5* graded, with every comfort considered, sea views and great walks, this cottage is perfect for a romantic escape à deux, or a proper family retreat with bucket and spade in tow. The All Wales Coast Path is right on the doorstep, stretching for 870 miles we wouldn't recommend tackling it all whilst on holiday (!) however would highly recommend the walk down to the church and then on to Llansteffan, with wide stretches of sand, historic castle perched on the hill and obligitory ice cream shop!

Carmarthenshire boasts some of the most glorious sandy beaches in Europe and there are plenty to choose from, including the very pretty Tenby, and Laugharne, made famous by Dylan Thomas, both less than 20 minutes from the cottage. For those who would like a taste of country life coupled with seaside fun, there is also every opportunity to try your hand in the milking parlour back on the farm!

Lovingly restored over the years, this cottage is now 5 star graded, yet still retains much of its character. Stepping in from the view, there are two large downstairs rooms, the sitting room with cosy sofa and armchairs, wood burning stove, TV, DVD, basket full of local leaflets and guide books for helping plan your stay. The other half of the downstairs is the large farmhouse kitchen. Complete with electric cooker, hand made kitchen and plenty of appliances and gadgets and leading out to a further terrace area at the rear of the cottage.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms, both with traditional bedsteads, decent mattresses and lovely bedlinen, there's a king-size bedroom, plus a twin, served by a family bathroom with roll top bath, towels are of course included. The cottage works well for four adults, a family of four, or a romantic break for two....Happy Loafing!

TAKE A HIKE: Step out on to the All Wales Coast Path, a bit much for a morning walk at 870 miles long, however there are beautiful stretches directly from the cottage door.

SAY HI TO THE ANIMALS: A proper working dairy farm, with cattle and sheep in the surrounding fields, friendly owners will gladly involve you in the twice daily milking should you like a taste of the Good Life!

BRING A BIKE: Pretty trails along the lanes, through Carmathenshire and neighbouring Pembrokeshire, the Celtic Trail is 143 miles in total and there are pretty sections that make a great day cycle ride, taking in some of the best of local pubs en-route. Bike hire is also available locally.

HEAD TO THE BEACH: The nearest beach of Llansteffan is fabulous for walking though soft sand, with ice cream in hand and taking a tour of the castle perched just above the beach. Carmarthenshire has six of the best sandy beaches in Europe and one of the longest in Wales, so bucket & spades at the ready!

TOUR THE TOWNS: Laugharne is just 15 minutes away and famed for being Dylan Thomas's home, worth a trip to visit the Boat House, have a peek at the Castle and pop into collectors haven, The Tin Shed, there's also a beach well worth the visit too. Tenby is another favourite, a very pretty walled seaside town with a great beach, reached within 20 minutes from the cottage

SLEEPS 2 - 4 : Two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, the other a twin, all bedding included and a hairdryer for each bedroom. Cot and highchair available on request.

RELAXING : Large sitting room with leather sofa, two leather armchairs and two beanbags. Wood burning stove with a basket of logs and kindling on arrival. TV, DVD player, local books and information

COOKING : Handbuilt kitchen with electric cooker, fridge with freezer compartment, washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and cafetiere. Basics such as salt, pepper, coffee, tea as well as a local welcome gift.

KEEPING CLEAN : Upstairs bathroom with roll top bath and shower attachment, basin and loo. Towels included. Washing machine/dryer

OUTSIDE SPACE : Terrace to the front and rear of the cottage with garden bench, outdoor dining table and chairs. Large grounds and wide views which you are welcome to explore. The friendly owners will gladly allow you to come and assist in the milking parlour if it is of interest.

POND : Within the wider grounds (not the immediate vicinity of the cottage) there is a pond, so please be aware for younger children.

FARM : The cottage is detached and your privacy is very important to the owners, it sits within the grounds of a working dairy farm and there are other buildings on the farm.

Wi-Fi - no Wi-Fi connection at the cottage but owners very happy to let guests use their connection.

PETS : Sorry, no pets at this cottage

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY

Bhavesh, 25th August 2018

An excellent holiday house in a peaceful location. The working farm is a bonus as the kids loved seeing the cows being milked. Beautiful beaches within a short driving distance. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

Shanna, 13th August 2018

Really beautiful cottage and friendly hosts. Our kids enjoyed all the space to play and explore while my husband and I caught up on reading. Wish we had had a bit more time to explore the area further, but there were some nice walks right on the property, as well as just off it.

Duncan, 21st July 2018

We had a wonderful time in this wonderful cottage close to so many beautiful day trip locations.. The peace and tranquillity together with the animals, play lawn and board games made it heaven for Mum, Dad and the kids.

Jesper, 30th March 2018

This is a fantastic cottage. Paula and Edward are very welcoming and always to hand but leave you to it when you dont need them. Our boys loved visiting the cows and calves and made friends with their grandson over the Easter break. Lovely, spacious and cosy cottage with everything you need. Good location for exploring Camarthanshire and PembrokeshRead moreire and some great hilly runs and cycles on the door step. Highly recommended. Hide
