The cottage sits within the grounds of a working dairy farm with cattle and sheep in the surrounding fields. It is detached and your privacy is very important to the owners. It has every comfort considered, sea views and great walks, it is perfect for a romantic escape or a proper family retreat.

Carmarthenshire boasts some of the most glorious sandy beaches in Europe and there are plenty to choose from, including the very pretty Tenby and Laugharne, made famous by Dylan Thomas, both less than 20 minutes from the cottage. For those who would like a taste of country life coupled with seaside fun, there is also every opportunity to try your hand in the milking parlour back on the farm. Plenty of walking on the pretty trails along the lanes, through Carmathenshire and neighbouring Pembrokeshire, the Celtic Trail is 143 miles in total and they make for a great days cycle ride and the All Wales Coast Path which is 870 miles long. Bike hire is also available locally.

BRING A BIKE: Pretty trails along the lanes, through Carmathenshire and neighbouring Pembrokeshire, the Celtic Trail is 143 miles in total and there are pretty sections that make a great day cycle ride, taking in some of the best of local pubs en-route. Bike hire is also available locally.

HEAD TO THE BEACH: The nearest beach of Llansteffan is fabulous for walking though soft sand, with ice cream in hand and taking a tour of the castle perched just above the beach. Carmarthenshire has six of the best sandy beaches in Europe and one of the longest in Wales, so bucket & spades at the ready!

TOUR THE TOWNS: Laugharne is just 15 minutes away and famed for being Dylan Thomas's home, worth a trip to visit the Boat House, have a peek at the Castle and pop into collectors haven, The Tin Shed, there's also a beach well worth the visit too. Tenby is another favourite, a very pretty walled seaside town with a great beach, reached within 20 minutes from the cottage

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY

Melanie, 19th July 2019

Warm welcome from the owners inc. gift of Welsh baked treats. Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings which we enjoyed exploring with our boys (13 and 8 years old). Boys enjoyed playing in the big garden with the friendly farm dog, and there are plenty of great beaches within a 30 min drive - we particularly enjoyed the 7.5m of sands at Cefn SiRead moredan, and our visits to Caldey Island via ferry from Tenby. We loved The Old House!! Beautiful cottage, lovely location and the owners were very nice and helpful... We had a fantastic family break, really enjoying both the peace and quiet at the farm and all the fun days out within an easy half an hour drive from it. Will definitely recommend it!

Bhavesh, 25th August 2018

An excellent holiday house in a peaceful location. The working farm is a bonus as the kids loved seeing the cows being milked. Beautiful beaches within a short driving distance. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

Shanna, 13th August 2018

Really beautiful cottage and friendly hosts. Our kids enjoyed all the space to play and explore while my husband and I caught up on reading. Wish we had had a bit more time to explore the area further, but there were some nice walks right on the property, as well as just off it.
