Enjoy rural views and river sounds from this unique former railway station with games room and hot tub. The property is close to Bala and Snowdonia National Park, perfect for families, including the dog, to relax and be active
All aboard for a fabulous family getaway! This former railway station near Bala is now a characterful holiday destination boasting a hot tub for leisurely soaks and a wood burner for evenings by the glowing flames.
This one-of-a-kind holiday home has been thoughtfully converted for comfort and convenience. The kitchen/diner is fresh and bright, with plenty of space and a circular dining table from which you can enjoy mountain views. A Smart TV will keep the chef entertained, and there’s another in the welcoming lounge, where you can ensconce yourselves in front of the wood burner and totally relax. There are three bedrooms, all with gorgeous views: a double with an en-suite shower room, a twin, and a bunk-bed room for two. The latter two rooms share the family bathroom. A couple of steps away from the house, the former signal box has been transformed into a quirky games room with a pool table. If you’re not in the mood for a game, however, you can hop into the hot tub on the lawn or fire up the charcoal BBQ and grill a meal to enjoy on what was once the station platform. The whole of this enclosed garden has fabulous views, and you’ll love switching off and listening to the birdsong.
This unique getaway is in the village of Fron-Goch, and from the cottage you can follow the River Tryweryn less than a mile to the National White Water Centre, where you can book a rafting adventure. The historic market town of Bala is 3 miles, boasting Wales’s largest natural lake, Llyn Tegid, for canoeing and sailing. If you want to continue the railway theme, everyone will love a trip on the narrow-gauge Bala Lake Railway, which steams around the lake amid beautiful scenery.
