Set in a rural location on the banks of the River Wye with established apple orchards, this traditional red-brick barn conversion is a perfect base for couples to explore Herefordshire.

Canoe down the River Wye, stroll along Offa’s Dyke or potter in Hay-on-Wye and then return to the comfort of this exquisite barn for two. Situated close to Preston-on-Wye, 11.5 miles from Hay, the one-bedroom, red-brick bolthole nestles on a small campsite with a farm shop and canoes for hire. It is 11.5 miles from Bannau Brycheiniog, also known as Brecon Beacons National Park, and is ideal for couples who love fishing or cycling, as well as walking.

Wander into your new home from home to find accommodation that has been beautifully designed and carefully finished. At ground-floor level, there is an airy, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can relax and enjoy quality time together after your exhilarating trips out. Sit back on the sofa to watch a film on the Smart TV and to enjoy a bottle of wine. Rustle up romantic meals for two in the kitchen area then dine at the table in style. A bathroom can also be found at this level of the barn. When you are ready to lay your head on your pillow for the night, climb the wrought-iron, spiral staircase up to your enticing double bedroom, which has a sloped ceiling and rural views. Dine outside in a shared seating area and make the most of the other campsite facilities.

Head off on foot or by bike or boat to explore the undulating countryside around you. Venture into Wales for days out exploring the mountains of Bannau Brycheiniog. Stock up on local produce or dine out in Hay-on-Wye, which is also known for its book shops and literary festival. Have day out in Hereford, 10.5 miles away, with its cathedral, museums and array of shops and eateries. Visit the splendid Brobury House Gardens, 4 miles away, on the banks of the River Wye.

The Outhouse is a beautiful little place to stay; a home from home. It's well-equipped, comfortable and cosy! We enjoyed being tucked away down single track lanes, surrounded by nature and farmland, and had a very peaceful stay. Also, Ollie and his team were helpful and knowledgeable throughout whenever we needed them! There's so much to see and doRead more around the area, so we're already thinking about going back... Hide

Lovely little cottage. Beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. Loved the spiral staircase and big bath. Fabulous location with walks and pub nearby. Nice to wake up with the sun beaming through the bedroom window and gazing out across the huge, green field.

This place was wonderful. There were 2 of us plus our German Shepherd and there was ample room and during the hot weather the stone flooring was ideal for our fluffy GSD as it was cold. Air conditioning upstairs in the bedroom was great, but the best part was just the location. Middle of nowhere, with a river nearby. Most relaxed we have been in a Read morelong time. We didnt need to leave the premises aside from a little bit of food shopping due to the size of the land, it was fantastic. Will be back! Hide
