This rustic barn enjoys an elevated location just above the village of Llangybi, here you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and enjoy the short walk into the village which is well served with a village pub. If you’ve come to walk you can leave the car behind as there are waymarked paths available from your front door, along with circular walks that will guide you through open fields and rich woodland. Just three miles away you will find Usk a vibrant market town steeped in history with many charming old buildings, a wonderful Norman castle, a rural life museum, beautiful churches and a Town Trail which includes 28 sites of historic interest. An area that is steeped in history with fine castles in Chepstow, Abergavenny, Raglan and Crickhowell. Along with a Roman amphitheatre in Caerleon. Golfers are spoilt for choice with access to Green Meadow Golf and Country Club, Woodlake Park and Golf Club and st Pierre golf course. This area is surrounded by breath taking forests and hillsides where you can also access The Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons.

Leave the village of Llangybi and climb the country lanes up to the barn, set within the grounds of the owner’s home enjoying views onto the countryside. Step inside, a great space for wet dogs and muddy boots, a utility area with washing machine and separate WC. A wooden door gives access to a spacious kitchen/diner the hub of the barn where you can sit comfortably at the table with friends and enjoy a glass of wine whilst the chef amongst you prepares a hearty meal. The kitchen has been finished with granite worktops and handcrafted cupboards. Well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. For relaxing a cosy lounge where you can sink back into the sofas after a day exploring the local and enjoy a movie on the TV. When the day is done climb the stairs where you will find two bedrooms. A king-size room with en-suite shower over bath and WC. A king-size zip-and-link (that can be made into a twin room by request when booking) with en-suite shower over bath and WC.

It is a spacious cottage within a group of buildings with its own privacy and a helpful and friendly landlord when required. It is a perfect escape from the bustle of life but near enough to attractions around Usk. The views across the valley are extensive and would offer relaxed evenings out in the summer and autumn (we stayed during winter). We fRead moreound we settled in very quickly. We arrived in the rain and it was such a cosy front room and lovely feel to the cottage it made us feel immediately at home. The garden is lovely, super views and so, so quiet. Lucy was very welcoming, there was wine & welsh cakes on our arrival & local eggs. Ocado found us easily enough & the local pub in LLangbi was welcoming with good local ale.Read more A great base to explore the Wye Valley (as to the west & south had local lockdown restrictions). All in all, one of my favourite cottages. Hide

Absolutely lovely cottage, just the right size for 2 or 4, in a very quiet, peaceful location. Lucy is a welcoming and totally approachable host. We had a small problem with the heating (now fixed) while we were there and it was easy to talk to her about it and work with her to get it right. We spent most of our time exploring the Brecon Beacons, cRead moreastles and churches around the area to the North of Llangybi. The garden would be lovely in warmer weather. Hide

Very spacious comfortable cottage with a large outdoor area. Quiet location but nearby Usk has all the necessary shops and eateries. Lots to see and do by car or foot in this beautiful area.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, peaceful and comfortable stone barn. Ideal for us to unwind and our son, who is a fisherman, was able to get to the the River Usk easily. Our host was very friendly and Usk is not too far away.

Ton Barn Cottage is a little bit of heaven- calm and peaceful in a beautiful setting and very comfortable - I genuinely didn't want to leave. Millie, our dog, also enjoyed the space, and the cottage was well equipped for her (useful entry utility space). Our car broke down on the penultimate day of the holiday and so we had to stay long past the reRead morequested leave time waiting for the repair (I promise we didn't do it on purpose!) - Lucy was so kind and helpful, making a difficult situation easier.
