Getaway on a romantic break for two to this luxurious property in the Brecon Beacons which oozes charm and character. During your stay, visit the National Showcaves Centre for Wales (10 miles) to delve underground and explore the spectacular spaces that lie beneath the surface along with their fascinating history.

As you step inside, the high ceilings and glistening chandelier welcome you home, leading up the oak staircase and through to the cosy, comfortable lounge where you can sink into the sumptuous sofas and relax by the wood burner. With windows lining the walls, natural light pours into the space for a bright and airy feel, whilst after sunset, the glow of the fire lights up the space while you curl up to watch a film on the TV. Head through to the kitchen to cook up a feast for your loved one in the stylish, modern space, with a table situated next to the window offering a lovely setting for an intimate meal together. A former chemist, the bathroom was once the medicine preparation room and now is a beautifully tiled shower room where you can start and end the day. Stepping down the oak staircase, you’ll find the double bedroom with touches of luxury in the Egyptian cotton bed sheets, soft lighting and neutral decor which create a tranquil environment for a good night’s sleep.

Take a wander to the local village of Sennybridge to stop off at the pub or chip shop for a tasty treat, or to stock up on produce for meals at home at the shop. From here, an array of walking adventures await, with Mynydd Epynt to one side and the Carmarthen Fans to the other ensuring you’ll never tire of the patchwork of trails and picturesque scenery. Pack a picnic full of your favourite foods and venture to ‘Waterfall Country’ at Ystradfellte (13 miles) where you can hunt down the finest falls by listening for sounds of cascading water and following trickling streams until you reach a perfect spot to set down and soak up the scenery.

The Old Chemist Shop is beautifully appointed and was immaculately presented. Everything you could need for a holiday stay was there, all good quality and spotlessly clean. Beautiful property with lots of little personal extras such as slippers and dressing gowns. Very clean, comfortable and well maintained. We loved our stay at the old chemist shop. The flat was immaculate and clean. The decor was classy and there were nice personal touches like the home made Welsh cakes, bread and champagne. Was a great location to see Brecon. We particularly like four waterfalls walk which was daily accessible.
