Situated at the end of the picturesque Brecon to Monmouth Canal, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this traditional market town provides the perfect base and simple access into the National Park, a haven for enthusiastic walkers with a wealth of breath-taking landscapes to be enjoyed from riverside to mountain peak. Steeped in history with some of Europe’s finest surviving castles, Brecon Castle overlooking the River Usk, Abergavenny Castle set against the spectacular hills and Crickhowell Castle a prominent feature within a small market town. For a traditional family day trip, there are many attractions including The Big Pit National Coal Museum, Blaenavon Iron Works and the National Showcaves Centre.
Enter the hallway of this handsome terraced townhouse with high ceilings and traditional open staircase, into the open-plan lounge/diner with large bay windows that offer views across to Pen Y Fan. Relax with friends and catch up over times gone by warmed by the wood burner, and when supper is prepared move into the dining area onto the formal dining table with space for up to twelve, after supper enjoy a good movie or a sing along beside the piano. The dining area also offers direct access to the garden/patio via the patio doors. The kitchen really is the hub of this house, large and well-equipped with a range gas oven and hob, microwave, an American style fridge/freezer with water and ice dispenser, and dishwasher. For those that choose to sit and accompany the chef with a glass of wine there is a breakfast table and chairs. The utility room is great for muddy boots with a washing machine and tumble dryer, there is also a handy WC just off the utility room. After a long day of mountain air, climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms, one king-size which benefits from a separate dressing room, and a super-king-zip-and-link (that can be made into a twin on request). There is a bathroom with bath, shower and WC. Climb to the second floor, where you will find two further bedrooms, one super-king bedroom enjoying views across to the mountains and one twin.
Step outside and enjoy the afternoon sun, the patio is a real sun trap with garden furniture and BBQ. There is off-road parking for one car.
