Enjoy the best of both worlds at this stylish holiday home, with the amenities of Crickhowell and walking, cycling, climbing, and mountain biking within the Welsh countryside all on your doorstep
Superb views reach over Crickhowell Castle and the Sugar Loaf Mountain from this eclectic, characterful home which was once a chapel. The peaks and troughs of the Brecon Beacons lie close to home so you can venture onto well-trodden tracks and trails and climb summits before getting competitive in the games room. With family and friends by your side, spend balmy evenings relaxing by the open fire in the courtyard which is enclosed by part of the Old Town Wall.
Country charm oozes from each room where exposed stonework and original beams complement the wooden furniture and natural yet rich tones. Sitting over three floors, the top floor is home to the heart of the house where the open-plan living space is waiting to be filled with chatter. Take a seat on one of the sofas and delve into a book from the shelf or fire up the wood burner for a snug night. Boasting spectacular views, treat your eyes as well as your tastebuds and tuck into a delicious feast at the large table whilst taking in the vista which reaches far and wide over mountains, rooftops and castles. Challenge each other in the games room before drifting off in one of five ground and first-floor bedrooms and waking to enjoy an al fresco morning coffee.
Steeped in character, the pretty local town of Crickhowell leads you to a plethora of trails and sits next to the River Usk where you can enjoy waterside wanders. For a rewarding climb, head from town towards The Sugar Loaf (6 miles), The Blorenge (9 miles), or Table Mountain where your efforts will be rewarded with panoramic views. For a day full of activities, travel to Llangorse Lake (10.5 miles), the largest natural lake in South Wales, where thrill-seekers can try their hand at new sports.
