Romantic hideaway set within the Black Mountains but yet amenities a short drive away in the local villages that surround the area

This is an ideal cottage for a walking holiday.  Nestled high up in the Black Mountains, this romantic cottage is set on the hill above the villages of Crickhowell and Llangattock.  With five pubs between them and good local coffee shops, there are plenty of watering holes to quench your thirst after a day in the hills!

Set within the Brecon Beacons National Park, the cottage has really great walks from the door, fantastic cycle rides, for both road bikers and mountain biker, and pony trekking and caving nearby too.  Or you can just take a gentle stroll along the Brecon & Monmouth Canal which glides along at the bottom of the hill.

The owners live in the barn next door and will offer a warm welcome, with local bread, milk and eggs on arrival.  Then you'll be left to enjoy the privacy and comfort of your cottage for the rest of your stay.  Inside the cottage is warm and cosy, with a contemporary feel, country touches and a simple layout.  It's very easy to feel quickly at home and you can enjoy spreading out the maps and guidebooks provided in the cottage to plan your weekend adventures.

Set on one level, you step straight in to the open plan living space, with generous dining table, leather sofa, Shaker style units and TV/DVD combo for lazy nights in. The cottage is centrally heated so is immediately warm and cosy on arrival and great in all weathers.

The bedroom is everything a holiday cottage bedroom should be. Ttruly comfortable, subtly decorated with crisp bedlinen just waiting for you to relax into! There's a bath with jacuzzi bubbles and soft fluffy towels too.

Outside there is a private, sheltered terrace area, which catches the sun throughout the day. There is also a barbeque and outdoor furniture, all close by to a pretty willow tree...of course!

Great, cosy, well equiped holiday home. Picturesque location, lots of walks straight from the doorstep and a great base for exploring the Black mountains, Brecon Beacons or more of South Wales.

We wanted a "secluded" cottage and that's exactly what we got, after nearly 2 miles of steep narrow lanes, with occasional passing points. If a car comes in the opposite direction stand by for "fun!" Everything we needed was clean & in good order. Good SAT TV for the wet evenings along with plenty of books & local walking maps. No WiFi signal was dRead moreetectable, although a 1 bar signal allowed us to make essential communications via mobile phone & email. Some great walks & meals nearby. Hide

Nice friendly people - clean and welcoming cottage. Only issue is that all roads to this cottage are narrow with some extremely steep gradients on sharp bends, and the track down to the cottage is not really suitable for a small vehicle. Close to Crickhowell and Averbegenny which are lovely.

We had a delightful time staying at Willow Cottage, it was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Even though it was late May, we were very appreciative of the central heating as we had a few wet days at the start. Lovely and cosy warm cottage, we enjoyed staying indoors when the storm Alex prevented us from going out in the beautiful surroundings. You need to be a good driver to negotiate the winding single track roads to get to the cottage but that was what made it more adventurous! Lovely friendly sheep nearby but keep the dog on lead!
