This is an ideal cottage for a walking holiday.  Nestled high up in the Black Mountains, this romantic cottage is set on the hill above the villages of Crickhowell and Llangattock.  With five pubs between them and good local coffee shops, there are plenty of watering holes to quench your thirst after a day in the hills!

Set within the Brecon Beacons National Park, the cottage has really great walks from the door, fantastic cycle rides, for both road bikers and mountain biker, and pony trekking and caving nearby too.  Or you can just take a gentle stroll along the Brecon & Monmouth Canal which glides along at the bottom of the hill.

The owners live in the barn next door and will offer a warm welcome, with local bread, milk and eggs on arrival.  Then you'll be left to enjoy the privacy and comfort of your cottage for the rest of your stay.  Inside the cottage is warm and cosy, with a contemporary feel, country touches and a simple layout.  It's very easy to feel quickly at home and you can enjoy spreading out the maps and guidebooks provided in the cottage to plan your weekend adventures.

Set on one level, you step straight in to the open plan living space, with generous dining table, leather sofa, Shaker style units and TV/DVD combo for lazy nights in. The cottage is centrally heated so is immediately warm and cosy on arrival and great in all weathers.

The bedroom is everything a holiday cottage bedroom should be. Ttruly comfortable, subtly decorated with crisp bedlinen just waiting for you to relax into! There's a bath with jacuzzi bubbles and soft fluffy towels too.

Outside there is a private, sheltered terrace area, which catches the sun throughout the day. There is also a barbeque and outdoor furniture, all close by to a pretty willow tree...of course!

Lovely comfortable cottage in a fabulously quiet location. Beautifully clean and well equipped with a very comfy bed! Fantastically positioned with walks from the door and access to many others. Loved Crickhowell. Would definitely recommend as long as you can live without internet and a good mobile reception. Not a problem for us.

This was a lovely cottage .. a real home from home experience . The approach to and from the cottage in the car is not for a nervous driver as it is a single track with blind bends with an extremely steep ratio. We had a lovely break .

I genuinely cannot fault Willow Cottage - the hosts are extremely kind and generous - and the cottage itself well-supplied with equipment. Dont expect too much in the way of wifi owing to the remote location but instead enjoy the beautiful clear night skies and walks on the Llangattock Escarpment. For our dog, the garden was fine. It has a small eaRead morerth area for toileting and is surrounded by a low chicken wire fence. The rest is laid to patio suitable for snoozes in sunnier weather. Hide
