This peaceful location will be hard to leave, however before the time comes you will have a wealth of walking to enjoy with simple access into the Black Mountains and slightly further afield the Brecon Beacons National Park. Enjoy the best of both Monmouthshire and Herefordshire’s market towns with regular farmers markets and literature and art festivals. Across the border, you will find an area steeped in history with some of Europe’s finest surviving castles and countryside, Brecon Castle overlooking the River Usk, Abergavenny Castle set against the spectacular hills and Crickhowell Castle, a prominent feature within a small market town. You may wish to enjoy a spot of fishing at one of several nearby locations. At the end of a busy day, return to the blissful peace of your retreat.

Take a stroll across the meadow and arrive at the wooden bridge where you will capture your first glimpse of this hand-crafted railway carriage. The covered terrace with double doors open into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, cosy chairs sit well in front of the wood burner effect electric fire, with a beautifully finished kitchen set against the rear of the carriage, equipped with electric hob, fridge with ice compartment, and for dining you can make the most of the carriage with the small pull out table and chairs. When your day is done climb into the built in double bed with TV. There is also a shower room with WC within the carriage.

Wake up to the sound of bird song and the babbling brook whilst you take breakfast on your private terrace over-looking the water’s edge, the terrace is a perfect sun trap and enjoys a cover for chiller autumn evenings along with a warming fire pit. Outside you will also find a gas BBQ. There is parking for two cars available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Hubby wants to live here (didnt say whether with me!) Old and anxious dog was more chilled out than he has been for a long time. Enjoyed the privacy and peace and quiet, but only ten mins away from Abergavenny town centre. We were very lucky with the weather and had a fire pit every evening with the added entertainment of the local cattle.

A relatively high-tech hut (it has a tv, flushing indoor toilet and EVERYTHING!), but still really peaceful and secluded. The brook was lovely to paddle in and the porch was great - could still be outside even through all of the rain. Lots of birds around, including a kingfisher! Seeing that was a definite highlight. All in all, a wonderful break fRead morerom reality. Hide

We had an amazing stay for our first wedding anniversary. The location is beautiful and secluded. Surrounded by fields, the hut is hidden away down your own private track. So much thought and care has gone into the construction and decoration of the hut; it's a cosy and comfortable little haven. The owners were great, not that we needed to contact Read morethem whilst we were there as they have thought of everything you could possibly need. We will definitely be back. Hide

The wool washers hut was a perfect tranquil location with very good facilities especially for the size. The surrounding grounds including the stream were really pretty with the relaxing sound of water running over the weir. The cottage was completely isolated with no other buildings visible a totally idealistic spot .
