Detached single storey property and lovely large garden close to Caernarfon, Llanberis and Dinas Dinlle. Enjoy the culture, coast, countryside and mountains of idyllic North Wales.

Enjoy the best of coast and country with a stay in this beautiful cottage in North West Wales. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of rural life, it is ideal for families/friends who want to explore the magnificent mountains of Snowdonia National Park and the rugged beauty of the coastline. Nestled in a secluded position in the Welsh countryside, there are plenty of walks from your doorstep, but this corner of Wales is also packed with history, wildlife, spectacular scenery and outdoor activities. You’re less than a mile from the village pub and shop in Bontnewydd.

Recently renovated, this immaculate cottage is bright and airy throughout. Neutral tones and light wooden tones create a contemporary feel, whilst original features add character and charm. Enter into the utility area to discard your muddy boots before heading into the large open-plan kitchen/diner where the vaulted ceiling adds to the sense of space. Comfy seating at one end allows everyone to congregate together whether you’re cooking, dining or relaxing. Of an evening, you can retire to the separate lounge to snuggle in front of the wood burner. Finally, there are two bedrooms and a wonderful bathroom with a freestanding bath. Outside, there is plenty of space including a lawn and a patio.

This area is teeming with interesting activities and days out. The medieval town of Caernarfon with its magnificent castle is only 3 miles away and historic university town Bangor is 11.5 miles away. You are also well-placed to head across the Menai Strait to Anglesey (10 miles). If you’re up for a challenge, head to Wales’ highest peak, Mount Snowdon, (17 miles) – you can choose whether to walk up or catch the train. For something extraordinary, visit Portmeirion Village (21.5 miles), with its Riviera-inspired buildings and ornamental gardens.

A very fully equipped cottage in a very peaceful location. The large garden with its birds and butterflies was an unexpected bonus. Local taxis aren't cheap - 20 for a return trip into Caernarfon for an evening meal. I appreciate there's not much the owners can do about this.

The house was in a great location, within an easy drive to the beach, the mountains, or Anglesey Island. Was really comfortable, clean and very well equipped. We would happily stay in Yr Onnen again when we next explore North Wales, and will be recommending it to family and friends.

Yr Onnen is a lovely cottage, well located, about 15 minutes drive to Pen-Y-Pass, ideal for visiting Snowdonia and the Isle of Anglesey. It is very spacious, nicely decorated, comfortable and has all of the equipment someone would needed for a short stay. I am usually worried about the cleanliness of the places I stay in, but the cottage was spotleRead moress. Also, the communication with the owners was easy, as they immediately answered my call and my emails. We would definitely stay there again. Hide
