Indulge in a little luxury when you stay at this sizeable country house in the southern swathes of the Snowdonia National Park. Sleeping eight guests, the five-bedroom abode is perfect for a large family or two families together. Ideal too for a group of friends, it sits in two acres of magnificent, riverside grounds, with an arboretum and hot tub, close to Mallwyd, 12 miles from Machynlleth and 10.5 miles from Dolgellau.

Tear yourselves away from the impressive views to enter the handsome stone house. Wander through to the lounge to bask in the heat of the wood burner on autumn and winter days and to find a film on the TV/DVD. Prepare tasty meals for your party in the stylish kitchen/diner and enjoy them here at the breakfast bar or through in the splendid dining room, where you can lay an open fire. At the end of each fun-filled day, climb the stairs up to the first floor of the house. Here you will find three king-size bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Two of these have roll-top baths. There are also two single bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom and the other with an en-suite shower room. Make the most of the glorious gardens on sunny days, walking beside the river or through the trees. Soak in the hot tub after long walks or simply relax with a drink and take in the views.

Venture out into Snowdonia to enjoy hiking and other outdoor activities. Head into the market town of Machynlleth to browse in the independent shops and dine out in friendly Welsh pubs. Visit the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) while you are here. Historic Dolgellau is also a lovely place to spend time and from here you can pick up the scenic Precipice Walk and Mawddach Trail.

Stunning property, very big and spacious with lovely old furniture. All rooms en suite with additional 2 downstairs toilets. Very comfortable, beautiful grounds, not overlooked. Hot tub difficult to access for those with mobility problems as it is up a steep slope. We had a lovely stay, very serene and private.

A stunning and welcoming property. We were a party of 6 adults, 3 young children and 2 dogs. Everyone fit comfortably with space to find a quiet corner but with a large lounge and dining room we could all comfortably fit in 1 space. There is plenty to do in the area and a lovely pub just a short walk away. The views from the garden are gorgeous andRead more we enjoyed many evenings with a gin and a BBQ. Perfection. Hide
