If you fancy staying closer to sea level, head to the traditional seaside town of Conwy (22 miles). Portmeirion (20 miles) is well worth a visit; it’s an enchanting Italian-style village on the coast. Betws-y-Coed (8 miles) has plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops, as well as access to many walking routes running along the River Conwy. Take the stroll along the river to the cascading Swallow Falls, or get your adrenaline pumping at Zip World.
