A converted henhouse that is backed by some of the most majestic mountains in Wales, this secluded property combines two smaller abodes to offer spacious accommodation for all your loved ones to enjoy an enchanting escape in the Brecon Beacons. Lovingly converted to provide the perfect family holiday venue, there is a plethora of space and separate rooms to ensure privacy for all of your nearest and dearest.

There are two separate open-plan lounge/kitchen/diners here, making sure everyone has their own area to wind down in. The first and largest of the two rooms has double-height ceilings, offering n airy and spacious feel to the area. There are two leather sofas for you to sink into after a day of exploring the local area and they encircle a large coffee table that is perfect for board games – or you can just watch the TV if you’d rather.

At the other side of the room you will find a stunningly contemporary kitchen, which wonderfully complements the calming neutral tones and chic décor of the lounge. A standout feature of the kitchen is the impressive granite peninsular. The space is equipped with an electric oven, large induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and Bluetooth speaker. You certainly won’t want for anything in this magnificent kitchen!

Once you’ve whipped up a culinary storm, the striking walnut dining table awaits where you can sit to enjoy your delicious cuisine and it is large enough to seat the whole family for that special occasion. The table is swathed in light that billows through the French doors alongside and lead out to a teak dining table and chairs for alfresco dining, plus the garden space beyond.

Leading off from the living space in this particular part of the conversion, there are three bedrooms to be found. The first is a spacious room with a king-size bed, where the comfort of duvets and pillows awaits to help you drift off to sleep, not to mention an en-suite limestone wet room to give it a true sense of royalty. The second bedroom has yet another sumptuous king-size bed, benefiting from an en-suite shower room and WC and finally the third bedroom features a super-king-size bed (that can be made into a twin on request) and an en-suite bathroom.

Through a corridor in the lounge area, you can find the second open-plan living space of the property which boasts the same wonderfully light and airy feel with the double-height ceiling of the first open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The two leather sofas are simply wonderful to sit back and sink into after a day exploring the local area and they sit beside a large coffee table that is perfect for playing board games together. There is also a TV if you’d rather watch a film together.

The kitchen space echoes the cool and contemporary feel of the rest of the open-plan room. Comprising of an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine, you could want for nothing when it comes to utilities needed during your stay. The centrepiece of the area is certainly the dining table, a marvellous piece of furniture made up of a long table and two benches; it creates the perfect setting for any meal of the day and there’s plenty of light flooding in to fill the space as bi-fold doors lead outside and are just alongside.

In this part of the conversion, the master suite boasts a king-size bed ready for you to float away into dreamland after a day of discovery, plus an en-suite shower room with WC, whilst the second bedroom features a super-king-size bed which can be made a twin on request. This bedroom also has its own en-suite bathroom with a hand-held shower and WC – so no fights over who gets to use the facilities first on a morning!

The crowning glory of this stunning, spacious property is the outside area, with surroundings that epitomise beauty. The large enclosed garden is perfect for those taking a dog on their travels, providing them with ample space to roam around without fear of escape and the patio furniture provides seating for you and your guests to sit out and make the most of the landscape.

This property is comprised of Old Henhouse Hideaway (PC: 54126) and Old Henhouse Retreat (PC: 54129) which are available to book separately at certain times of the year.

Lovely cottage, really well equipped and suited all our needs (1 year old up to 80 year old and three dogs). The two sides of the property worked really well for us. A beautiful location, lovey views and a great base for walks. We would love to stay here again and have already recommended it to friends.

The accommodation was well appointed and comfortable and for a excellent base for a family get together. The ability to have separate spaces was perfect so there was an area away from the dogs. We used a dog pen to keep dogs secure during meals and at night and there was ample space for this within the accommodation

Lovely cottage in a stunning location. The cottage had everything in that you needed. The enclosed garden was wonderful for our dogs. Although there were no sheep free walks from the cottage a short trip into Abergavenny we found a beautiful park and a picturesque canal and an old railway line. We had a great time.
