Go walking, fishing and cycling. Return to your cosy hideaway to dine under the stars, watch for wildlife and listen to the sound of the River Severn passing gently by.

Climb the steps into the pretty shepherd’s hut to find a gorgeous lounge/kitchen/bedroom with everything you need to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. Toasty even in winter, thanks to the underfloor heating and wood burner, the hut is also a pleasant place to stay in spring and summer when you might wish to keep the doors open. Prepare tasty meals in here and dine inside at the breakfast bar or out in the fresh air. Find you have an indoor shower and WC and that the double bed offers all the comfort you desire at the end of your long days out. Enjoy breakfast outside in the morning as you gaze out over the water. Have a BBQ out here in the evening and keep the fire pit glowing as the clear starry night skies appear above you.

Make your way into Llanidloes to browse in the colourful independent shops and to dine out. Head to the Hafren Forest, about 4 miles away, to follow a variety of trails along beside the River Severn and through the trees. Drive 7 miles to the Clywedog Reservoir, with its magnificent views out across the dam and the water. Here there are more walking routes to follow and you can also go sailing and fishing.

Hosts were very welcoming and helped us with everything we needed, the hut itself is perfect. Location of the Sheperds hut and the surrounding areas are unreal. We didnt know too much about mid-wales before coming to Llanidloes but we will certainly be coming back! Thank you again!

Absolutely beautiful! The Shepherds Hut is very high quality, beautifully done, and supremeley comfortable. The location defies description. There are outstanding views in every direction, and the river Severn babbling away a few yards below you. Not sure you can better this, and the hosts are wonderful.

Highly recommend this, if you are looking for a relaxing break away from the stresses of everyday life, listening to the sound of the stream and bird song. Our host was wonderful her garden beautiful, as animal lovers to be greeted by two adorable dogs and a very friendly ginger cat was lovely.

In a brilliant location. Really cozy cabin, with some lovely design features. It's the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring mid Wales. After the sun sets it's amazingly dark and quiet with just the sound of the River Severn. Pretty much the perfect place to go to escape the world.

If you like glamping, then you'll love the Shepherds Hut, it is located in a beautiful part of Wales right next to the river Severn. What a gem!! Just got back from a 3 night break at the shepherds hut. It was honestly one of the nicest places we have stayed! A perfect mix of nature and home comfort.
