Before crossing the threshold of this lovely property, turn and take in the views across the Pen Y Fan. Savour the fresh mountain air deep into your lungs and step inside this charming and bright cottage. Kick off your boots and hang up your coats. A cosy space awaits. The lounge/kitchen/diner is decked with a clever mix of old and new that creates a homely and welcoming space and a warm feeling of familiarity will slowly envelop you. The sofa and reclining easy chair with a matching footstool are draped with traditional and beautiful Welsh blankets in a nod to the landscape outside and sit beside the central wood burner.

A traditional farmhouse table and chairs cleverly make the most of the space and are tucked into the corner of the room. There is a well-equipped kitchen area with an electric oven and a hob, a fridge with an ice compartment and a washing machine.

When it’s time for bed climb the cottage stairs to the first floor where you will find a pretty double bedroom with views across the surrounding countryside. The second bedroom is a comfortable single with a lovely day bed and views to the front of the cottage. The one bathroom again makes optimum use of the space available and has a shower over the bath, a WC, a sink and storage.

Outside the property is a pretty garden with garden furniture and charcoal-fired, plus allocated parking for one car. One dog is welcome.

A lovely cottage off the beaten track, which was cool after a hot day. The bed was very comfortable with the second bedroom ideal as dressing room. We would be happy to stay again in the future. The carpet in some areas had seen better days.

We spent a week in this cottage with our Labrador. It was soo peaceful!! I could feel my shoulders dropping and any tension seeping away. Barbara is always happy to help if there are any issues. The kitchen is well equipped and I acquired the skill of using a log burner. We visited Brecon and Hay-on-Wye and enjoyed many walks. Delightful cottage in very quiet, but accessible and easy to find location. Thoughtfully and comfortably furnished. Excellent quality utensils, and clean good quality appliances. South facing garden ideal for al fresco breakfast, which we enjoyed in March! Ideal for our needs, will definitely consider in the future.

Cosy country cottage with lovely views. The garden is small but full fenced so is dog proof. My daughter and I and our medium sized dog had a great stay here. The cottage is warm and comfortable. It was also easy to find and The Felinfach Griffin is a very welcoming pub which sells delicious food. The owner was also very helpful and communicative.

Upon arrival and entrance into the cottage you realise that even though its small its packed with everything you need to fully relax and unwind. Over the weekend we stayed, we were able to sit outside and have breakfast listening to the birds, watching the clouds go by. A big plus, not hearing traffic. You are only minutes away from exploring the BRead morerecon Beacons. Perfect place to use as a base. Hide
