Get close to nature with a stay in this enticing wagon, in picturesque, verdant surroundings near Craswell, 7 miles from Hay-on-Wye. Ideally positioned for days out into the Brecon Beacons National Park and Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the unique, one-bedroom, holiday home for two nestles on a farm within the Black Mountains. Take two delighted dogs along with you for long walks to set tails wagging; go wild swimming nearby or simply soak away your cares in your private hot tub.

 

Climb a few steps up into the wagon’s open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom to find that even when off-grid, you have every comfort. Cook inside on the gas oven or hobs or outside over the open fire. Wash up after heating your water on the stove then light the wood burner, chat about your day and have a hot shower in the separate shower room before heading over to the inviting double bed. There’s an eco-friendly compost WC at the wagon and that energy is supplied through solar panels. Enjoy breakfast out in the fresh air on warm spring and summer mornings and absorb the glorious landscapes around you. Soak in the hot tub as often as you choose. There is parking for one car with the holiday home.

 

Head into Hay-on-Wye to browse in the shops of the famous book town, pick up local produce and dine out when you fancy a treat. Visit the castle while you are here. Drive 13.5 miles into the Brecon Beacons to see the ruins of Llanthony Priory, set in the scenic Vale of Ewyas. Have a day out in Abergavenny, 15 miles away, known for its many food outlets and eateries selling local Welsh delicacies.

The shepherds hut did not disappoint, every little detail had been attended to, cosy, charming, romantic getaway from it all spot! Loved the extra blankets and cushions which made it really homely. This really is a stunning getaway. Unbelievably peaceful, astounding views and even more comfortable than expected. We loved our stay at The Gypsy Wagon for bank holiday weekend. It's a short (but steep and muddy when it's wet) walk from the car but it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. Lovely cosy place with the stove lit. Nice comfy bed and great view of the stars from the hot tub. If you're visiting in cold weather make sure to leave plenty of time to heat the hot tub. We kept the fire box stoked and it took three hours and a whole sack of logs to get up to temperature. It was worth it though :)

Absolute bliss; I thoroughly enjoyed myself in pure peace and serenity. It is a break from the rat race, strolling down to the river every morning. I would advise if going; something to cut wood, battery packs, and a sketch pad.

Despite going at one of the coldest times of year this trip was one of the most memorable I have ever had. Me and my partner absolutely loved it here. We were in the hot tub most nights, stargazing and talking. I cooked a beautiful beef stew at the fire pit which we consumed over a couple of days. The wagon was beautiful, very cosy and secluded. You have beauty views and the option to relax in the Hotub at night while watching a sky full of stars. The occasional sheep keeping company. If you need a weekend to get away this is 100% the place. Sue and John where lovely.

A beautiful stay. Hot tub easy to use. We did stay during a heatwave, but the parasol kept us cool as you are in a great spot for catching rays. Both us and the dog enjoyed the short walk down to the stream which we used to cool some G&Ts! We have never spent so long doing so little, a true back to basics getaway. Most of our stay we spent experimenting with open fire baking, cooking produce from the local market and reading in the shade. Tractors came to bale the hay as we watched which was just magical. Me and my boyfriend had an incredible time at the Dreamcatcher Wagon! The views at the accommodation are simply breathtaking and it's tucked away in a lovely secluded section of the farm. Amazing views, secluded and very peaceful Host was very hospitable whilst still maintaining privacy We did choose to put our dog on a long lead as he has a tendency to roam, just so we could make full use of the lovely hot tub without having to jump out to retrieve the mutt from his wanderings Enjoyed it so much have already rebooked

Owner Sue was lovely and let us know how to use everything, despite being on an animal sanctuary with some lovely donkeys, it was very quiet and secluded. Couldn't recommend more!

The wagon is a haven of tranquility and a perfect escape from modern life. Sue is a really welcoming host and the wagon was toasty with the fire lit. Disappointingly the weather let us down for any walking but the wagon is perfectly positioned for the Cats Back and various others across the Black Mountains. Would recommend in a heart beat.

We had a wonderful couple of days of much needed isolation from the daily grind. The wagon itself was cozy and getting a fire going in the wood burner felt very rewarding. We truly didn't want to leave and couldn't have been more pleased with our stay.
