We had an excellent stay at the Old Stables. A superb location with lovely views from the patio area and peace/quiet. We enjoyed walks and ebike rides (some very steep hills up sandstone escarpments) from the door. We only used the car once to visit impressive Chepstow castle (20 mins) on the only chilly grey morning of our stay. We live in a vRead moreery rural area ourselves so narrow roads and distance from shops werent an issue (we had enough provisions to last 5 days). We found the bed, indoor/outdoor seating comfortable. Hide

Beautiful location with lots of walks from the door. The owners were friendly and helpful. Cottage was lovely. Warm and comfortable. Quite isolated but we like that and this is one of the few cottages we would consider visiting again.

Had a lovely few days away at this property. Great for walkers and dogs. Property was comfortable loved the balcony seating area outside. Barney the owners dog made friends with our dog and joined us on walks lovely little chap! Would recommend. Take plenty of food/resources as no shop within walking distance. A very peaceful short break.

A very well-appointed cottage, with great views. Nice and quiet, the dog was very happy, as were we. It was very warm, with under-floor heating and a radiator at the top that did more than keep the chill off. We slept very well. Kitchen is pretty good for a holiday stay. Bed very comfortable. Great little cottage for two in lovely quiet rural spot. Maybe a bit short on natural daylight downstairs but made up for by good sitting out areas. Very cosy and efficient log burner - only used a couple of evenings in early October as weather was not really cold enough! Plenty of good dog walks around. In previous reviews people mentioned a welcome pint of milk in the fridge so we were a bit disappointed there was none for us, also it states first basket of logs included, there were only 2 logs in the bottom of the basket. Otherwise it was a cosy cottage, clean & comfortable, and well equipped.
