Enjoy remote walks from the front door, as well as fishing on the banks of the River Irfon. The quaint town of Llanwrtyd Wells is 2.5 miles away.
A 1-mile track, shared with the farm, leads to the property. Once inside, you’ll be captivated by its Welsh charm, with beautiful, exposed beams, open fire, and sash windows. At the heart of the cottage is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which lends itself to cosy nights in, enjoying delicious food with friends and family. There’s also a separate lounge, where you can unwind with a good book or watch a film on the TV. Stairs lead to the first floor and the four charming bedrooms, all of which look out over open countryside. Outside, soak up the Welsh sunshine with a few drinks in the walled garden or enjoy a peaceful riverside stroll, looking out for red kites soaring overhead.
The Cambrian Mountains are quite spectacular. As well as the rugged landscape and rare wildlife, you’ll also be able to immerse yourself in Welsh-speaking communities and embrace the country’s rich culture. Head to Llanwrtyd Wells, the smallest town in Wales, to sample some of the Welsh cuisine and learn about the town’s fascinating history at the heritage centre. The town also has a busy calendar of quirky events, including the Bog Snorkelling Championships! Irfon Forest, just outside the town, is ideal for families, with way-marked trails along the river and a gorgeous picnic area.
