This spectacular family home is set deep in the Welsh countryside, surrounded by waterfalls, woodlands, and grazing sheep. The idyllic setting will inspire you to get out and explore, with a multitude of walking routes directly from the property. You’ll also be just 4 miles from the vibrant market town of Brecon. The property sleeps 14 guests and welcomes extra guests in tents within the grounds, making it ideal for large family get-togethers and celebrations with friends. Enjoy dinner parties at the vast dining table, share stories around the roaring open fire, or dine alfresco and take in the jaw-dropping views across the national park.
The former barn is full of character, with spectacular oak beams, exposed stonework, and flagstone flooring. The quirky living areas are set over several levels, with steps connecting the kitchen/diner, snug, and lounge. After dinner, retire to the cosy area for a little cwtch by the open fire or congregate in the ginormous lounge to play games or watch a film on the TV/DVD. When it’s time for bed, retire to one of the bedrooms, which include two doubles, one twin, and a mezzanine level with six single beds (there is also a sofa bed in the lounge). Outside, unwind in your sheltered seating area; fire up the BBQ, sit back, relax, and soak up the peace and tranquillity.
You’ll find plenty to entertain everyone at Llangorse Lake (9 miles). The largest lake in Wales is surrounded by a patchwork of fields and is a fabulous place for walking. You can also hire a variety of vessels, including kayaks and paddleboards, to get out on the water. The lively town of Brecon has an exciting calendar of events throughout the year and boasts a splendid array of eateries serving local dishes and delicacies.
