Property code: BN242

A characterful and cosy rural retreat in a tranquil location, offering a great base from which to enjoy the outdoors and explore this unspoilt area of mid Wales.

A beautiful stonework cottage surrounded by 80 acres of serene farmland and within easy reach of the Brecon Beacons, this romantic escape is perfect for a couple of avid walkers and their furry-tailed companions. Venture into the mystical forest at Gwenffrwd-Dinas and amble alongside moss-covered boulders and bluebell-carpeted woodland as you attempt to uncover the looting cave of infamous outlaw Twm Siôn Cati. Round off the day with a cold drink and a restorative soak in the steaming hot tub.

This well-presented property features a modern interior styled in neutral tones with bright splashes of colour. Unlace muddy hiking boots in the hallway then step into the airy lounge/diner overlooking the courtyard. Kick up weary feet as you sink onto the sofas and dive into some savoury nibbles then snuggle up with a film. Pour a glass of wine and plate up an indulgent sweet treat in the compact kitchen or prepare a delicious morning spread to fuel your adventures. Pad up the soft carpet staircase to the tranquil king-size bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and en-suite shower room. For the perfect leisurely morning, grab a coffee then curl up in the light-dappled reading nook on the landing then dine al fresco in the courtyard surrounded by potted plants and shrubbery.

Scope out the best local coffee shops and independent stores peppering the streets of Llandovery, 6 miles, or follow the town walk trail past the ancient castle ruins and along the banks of the trickling River Tywi. For something a little faster-paced, grab the bikes and throw yourselves into an adrenaline-fuelled mountain bike session with an awe-inspiring country backdrop at Cwm Rhaeadr, 6 miles. Don’t miss a visit to the quirky town of Llanwrtyd Wells, 9 miles, for bog snorkelling and real ale-sipping fun.

The cottage was super clean, tidy, comfy bed and sofas ! Hot tub was nice but limited access - 9-4.45pm . Staff we met on departure were super friendly although we hadnt seen anyone until then. Nice surrounding areas plenty to do - look up where to go before you go and get supplies in !!

Bedsheets had hairs in the bed. Owner happily change it the next day, unfortunately it did mean sleeping the night in my sleeping bag which wasn't great.

The cottage was lovely, clean and well equipped. We didn't need to ask for anything.. The big Jacuzzi was brilliant, but you need to book a time slot between 10am and 17.00hrs as it get shut for cleaning etc. The local scenery is amazing and 20 minutes in a car and you're on top of the mountains. We found a super little pub 15 minutes away with a fRead moreriendly welcome which did great food.. Would I goback? Definitely . Hide

Lovely clean and comfortable stable conversion with super hosts, who made us very much at home. You could hear a pin drop, so it was a welcome change to be able to sleep properly! Location is beautiful though a drive was necessary, wherever you wanted to go. Great walking area. Highly recommended.
