A charming chocolate-box cottage at the heart of a pretty village, surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park and within easy reach of a picturesque river and a canal for scenic walks.

Immerse yourselves in the beauty of the Brecon Beacons when you stay at this historic Welsh cottage in Llangynidr. Sleeping four guests and a duo of dogs, the two-bedroom property is approximately 5 miles from Crickhowell. Follow footpaths and trails through the national park, savouring the beauty of the Usk Valley as you go. Spend your evenings relaxing at the cottage in front of a roaring wood burner or soaking up the sunshine in its pretty garden.

Stroll in to discover an inviting interior. Leave your outwear in the porch, where the washer/dryer is also kept, and amble into the lounge. Light the wood burner in here, play games together or watch TV. Head through into the snug instead to read your book: there is a games console here and a futon bed for two extra guests if arranged in advance. Wander through into the kitchen to put the kettle on and whip up a tasty meal with the fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. Dine in here together at the table. Climb the cottage-style stairs up to the first floor to find a king-size room and a double, with a 4ft bed. The family bathroom, with elegant free-standing bath, plus a shower, is also here. There is a day bed on the landing for another additional guest if arranged in advance. Dine out in the delightful garden on arm days. Fire up the BBQ and watch the children climb on to the old tractor. Pick home produce from the kitchen garden. There is parking for two cars at the cottage.

Go canoeing, kayaking and fishing in the area. Plan a day trip to Llangorse Lake, 6 miles away, to enjoy water sports and walk along the shores. Visit the ruins of Tretower Court and Castle, 4 miles away.

A lovely traditional cottage. Welcoming and a bonus having a secure garden for the dog. Plenty of reading material be it novels, cookery or walking and local history. Ideally placed to walk the canal path. Cosy and inviting with all mod cons.

Middle Bridge Cottage is even better than "home from home". The owner has gone out of her way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, labelling everything that could come handy with indications to encourage you to go ahead and use them! There were only two of us, but the cottage can easily sleep 6 in 4 different rooms and there is ample crockerRead morey and seating for everyone. I fully recommend it! Hide

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the cottage which is absolutely lovely. Its location is excellent with two pubs both serving good food in easy walking distance. The village shop is also nearby and is well stocked. There are good walks from the property and the one by the river Usk is beautiful if more of a hike than a walk! There are many differenRead moret places to visit within easy reach of the cottage - we particularly enjoyed the canal trip from Beacon and the mountain railway. Hide

" Draft excluders for main doors would be nice but only required in winter. Cottage is well placed for hills and towns. Red Lion good for plain pub grub and sensibly priced.
