Property code: BN340

This lovely, converted cattle shed is located on a working farm. It sleeps up to five people and boasts an elevated and rural position with panoramic views over the Brecon Beacons.

With its original wood beams, oak window frames, slate flooring and breathtaking Black Mountain views, this beautifully converted cattle shed on a working sheep farm is the perfect place to live the rural dream. Sleeping five people over two bedrooms and welcoming two dogs, it’s the ideal accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who are yearning for some quality time in the heart of the Welsh countryside. Spend your days rambling along hiking trails and your evenings chatting by the glow of the cottage’s lovely wood burner.

Step inside this characterful stone cottage and you’ll find a large entrance hall leading through to a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area. The wonderful wood beams and slate floor give a respectful nod to the building’s previous purpose as a cattle shed. Make a beeline for the large kitchen area, where there’s plenty of room to cook up a feast for your loved ones. Gather everyone at the dining table, or head out to the terrace and dine alfresco. After dinner, pour yourself a glass of wine and head to the living room to catch up with your loved ones by the wood burner. When it’s time for bed, make your way up the wooden staircase and you’ll find two wonderful country-style bedrooms.

The small village of Llanfihangel Talyllyn is just 2.5 miles from the property and there are easy walking routes that take you straight there to its handy shop and cosy pub. Further afield, try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking at Llangorse Lake (4 miles). Or head into the gorgeous town of Hay-on-Wye (14.5 miles) for the day. Stroll around the quirky bookstores, enjoy a dip at the Warren swimming spot or go canoeing on the River Wye.

Absolutely wonderful cottage. Spotlessly clean comfortable and well equipped. We only stayed for 3 nights but would love to spend more time there. Great location with plenty to see and do, although the garden and views were so lovely and it was so peaceful we would be happy just to spend time there. Friendly and welcoming host.

Very grateful for a peaceful break in a beautiful area. Comfortable cottage with beautiful views all around. Spotlessly clean and a thoughtful host. Tucked away down a long dead-end lane, there is no road noise - just peace and quiet.

Two of us stayed for a 4 night break with our dog.The accommodation is very spacious (ideal if you have a large dog) with a lovey garden which is secure. Brecon is only about a 15 min drive an attractive town with a couple of large supermarkets . The village of Langors has a community shop which sells most essentials. The location of the property iRead mores very peaceful and surrounded by fabulous scenery. The single track road to the farm is a little daunting but we never met another vehicle . Hide

A fantastic cottage with spectacular views and enclosed garden which was perfect for the dog. A great base with lots to do in the Brecon area. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking in and the overall layout of the cottage works well.

We had a lovely holiday at Ty Bryn. It is in a wonderful remote location with magnificent views. However for a 5 star property, we felt that the outside and some parts of the interior looked tired. The gardens were also in need of attention. On the website details ,it should be specified that it is apart of a complex of properties with Pentwyn BarnRead more attached. Hide
