With the Llangattock Escarpment rising up on the mountainside behind, and the villages of Crickhowell and Llangattock below, climbers, walkers, hikers and bikers will be in heaven
Originally a terrace of traditional quarrymen’s cottages, this home has been refurbished and is well-designed and comfortable; a spacious retreat for 10 guests to enjoy time together. Families, couples and friends will love the location at the base of a mountain in the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Head out for wonderful scenic walks, right from the doorstep of this lovingly converted family home. Inside, you’ll be treated to traditional features and spacious rooms. The large, well-equipped kitchen/diner is perfect for cooking, socialising and dining together. Afterwards, the younger members of the group can head through to the playroom with pool and table tennis table, plenty of games and toys, as well as a TV and games console. The five bedrooms (two of which have en-suite facilities) and family bathroom are upstairs. Feast on a BBQ on the sunny terrace at the front of the cottage while taking in the views towards Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Black Mountains. At the back of the property is a large lawned garden with a play area for children, and a further enclosed walled terrace.
Llangattock Mountain, The Blorenge and The Black Mountains are all within easy reach of the home. Leave the cars behind and head out on some spectacular walking and cycling routes. Just 3 miles down the road is Crickhowell, a quintessential Welsh village with some independent shops, restaurants and coffee shops. From here, you can access the delightful River Usk towpath or take the Crug Hywel (Table Mountain) walk. The Brecon Beacons is packed with things to see and do such as rock climbing at Llangorse Activity Centre (12 miles), paddle boarding at Llangorse Lake (13 miles), or discover the area’s history at Tretower Court and Castle (5.5 miles).
