If you can’t decide between coast and countryside, this superb 17th-century farmhouse has it all and is perfect for entertaining guests young and old. Spend time walking by the crashing waves of the crystal seas on the Wales Coast Path or summit peaks in Snowdonia National Park where your climb will be rewarded with terrific vistas. Rustic style promises to make you feel right at home, but the real treat awaits outside where the hot tub boasts panoramic views over the majestic mountains. There's even a small private lake with firepit and log seating in the adjoining field, perfect for sunsets and surrounded by wild-life and flowers.

Exposed beams line the ceiling, inglenook fireplaces offer striking features and antique Welsh furniture brings a wealth of charm and character. With more than one place to sit down and unwind, cosy up by the wood burner in either the lounge or the snug and steal away for a moment of well-deserved peace and quiet after a sociable evening around the table. For the ultimate al fresco evening, the patio and its pergola are the perfect ingredients for relaxing and the hot tub soothes aching muscles fresh from the summits of Snowdonia. Sizzle up the BBQ for a smoky feast with breathtaking views to treat both your eyes and your tastebuds. Sitting on the first floor in the eaves of the house, a trio of charming bedrooms are indulgent places to rest your head.

Head to the golden sands of Conwy Morfa Beach (5 miles) where you can splash in the sea, bask in the sun and enjoy many a sandcastle competition. There are plenty of places to whet your appetite and, for a sand-free day, some of your party can take to the green at the local golf club. If you’re feeling adventurous, make your way into Snowdonia National Park where you can catch waves at Surf Snowdonia (3 miles) or enjoy a ride on a zipline.
