Sweeping mountains, clusters of traditional stone properties and a tapestry of green fields surround the rural hamlet of Gellilydan, a serene backdrop for your charming home-away-from-home. Studded at the heart of the luscious green wilderness of the Snowdonia National Park, you’ll soon be navigating paths and bridleways that snake through pockets of gnarled woodland, returning to your family-friendly retreat for leisurely evenings.

A sleek interior with muted colours and tasteful styling sets the scene, lulling you into a sense of wellbeing as you delve into your favourite snacks, watch SkyTV and warm your toes by the crackling coal-effect electric fire in the lounge. Select mouth-watering delicacies from nearby Porthmadog and transform them into a feast worthy of kings in your kitchen/diner. Choose to dine around the quirky table or step out to the front garden for sizzling BBQ treats in the late summer breeze, or pour the wine and unwind on the pretty patio in the rear garden. When the day is done, channel the last of your energy reserves into some healthy competition in the games room, challenging your party of eight to table football or the games console. At bedtime, all four bedrooms make for a restful night’s sleep. The superb king-size room boasts a decadent en-suite bathroom perfect for relaxing pamper sessions.

Snowdonia National Park has a wild and rugged appeal for outdoor adventurers and gentle amblers alike, whether you are enchanted by the prospect of climbing Mount Snowdon itself 16.5 miles away or simply wish to browse cultural attractions and pause for tea and cake in a village tearoom. A 9-mile drive will bring you to the lively harbour town of Porthmadog with its vibrant railway history, museums and iconic embankment, fondly known as ‘The Cob’.

Lovely stay regardless of the wet weather. Best welcome pack weve ever had. Good location for exploring wales. Would definitely return again. Nice food at pub down the road, but the food took an hour to arrive the first time but only 20 mins the second time. If near black rock sands the black rock beach club pub serves lovely food too and is dRead moreog friendly in conservatory. Hide

Perfect location for 3 generations (and 2 dogs) of a family to get together. Lovely cottage with great facilities and good sized rooms. Perfect base for exploring Porthmadog, Welsh Highland railway, Harlech castle, black rock sands & Portmeirion. Walkable to the local pub which gave a a break from cooking one night.

We were two families of four - all four kids were under 6 years old. The cottage met our needs very well - it was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was really well equipped and the location was great for trips to the coast and the national park. The local pub was a stone's throw away and had a nice play area to let the kids stretch their legs. The cottRead moreage was cosy and warm, and while the bedrooms aren't massive, they were perfectly adequate and we managed with the two bathrooms just fine. The games room was great and the kitchen large enough for everyone to gather, cook and eat. The lounge was also large and comfortable and slightly away from the bedrooms which was good when the kids were asleep. In short, the cottage is clean, well equipped and was perfectly adequate for two families of four. The bedrooms aren't the biggest, and a bath in the main bathroom would have been useful - that said it met all our needs and we had a lovely stay. It is really well located and is good value for money. Oh - and the dog liked it too! Hide

A lovely bungalow, dog friendly although the garden was small and enclosed with tall conifers which made us feel very enclosed. A little too far from beaches for us, but that was our fault for not checking distances.
