Property code: DY011

Situated on the cusp of Aberdovey, this homely abode boasts a lovely fire for chilly nights, but in warm weather, the raised garden is a treat for admiring the views.

Escape to gorgeous Aberdyfi and Snowdonia, and lose yourselves in the spectacular views out over the estuary. Sleeping four guests, and perfect for a family, the two-bedroom Welsh cottage also benefits from a raised terrace from which you can look out towards Bae Ceredigion and watch the sailing boats drifting by. Enjoy days out on the golden sands of Aberdyfi, 0.5 miles away, or head into the national park to follow footpaths, see beauty spots and enjoy outdoor activities.

Climb the external stairs to the front door and let yourselves into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Enjoy the original character as you relax on the comfortable seating to watch TV or a DVD, or listen to a CD. Wander over to the kitchen area to make a cup of tea or prepare a homecooked meal with local produce, then dine together at the table. You also have a useful washer/dryer. Climb the steep, cottage-style stairs when it is time to turn in for the night. Discover a double bedroom, capturing vistas out over the water, plus a bunk bedroom for youngsters. The family bathroom is also here. Soak up the sunshine on the patio next to the cottage or climb shared steps up to your private raised terrace, which is surrounded by trees. Have lunch or a few drinks here and soak up the scenery. You will be given one permit for a public car park close by.

Head off into Snowdonia for the day. Visit Dolgoch Falls, 10 miles away, a series of three waterfalls on the Nant Dol-gôch stream. Follow a circular, 1-mile walk through the Tal-y-Lyn Valley while you are here. Take the children through the caverns of King Arthur’s Labyrinth, 10 miles away at Corris.

A lovely cottage with the most amazing view, we loved watching the tide ebb and flo. The cottage is very handy for the village. There is a busy road outside but we did not notice it and sat out the front most days, at night it is very quiet. The cottage is well equipped and the beds are very comfy.

Had a lovely week here, would definitely return. Aberdovey is a very pretty seaside village, rows of gorgeous painted houses and a fab sandy beach. Some great places to eat out too. The cottage is lovely, very clean, great location. A great patio garden with spectacular views. Already missing the lush green hills of Wales!
