This quirky waterside property in the coastal village of Llwyngwril has plenty to offer couples looking to get away from it all. Llwyngwril, in Snowdonia National Park, is the ideal location for an idyllic and tranquil holiday. The village offers shops, a pub and a train station connecting you to Aberystwyth to Pwllheli. Relax with a picnic by the River Gwril while enjoying the sounds of flowing water and birdsong. For something a little more adventurous, head to Coed-Y-Brenin (14 miles) which has an array of cycle tracks to explore. The local coastline offers a pebble beach and provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy a stunning sunset. Fairbourne Beach (3 miles) has a 2-mile expanse of sand to enjoy.

This gated property, situated within the owner’s grounds, is a truly quirky garden retreat. As you enter, you will find a lobby with storage for boots and coats. There is a shower room just off the lobby which has a shower and a WC. From the lobby, enter the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. If you decide to eat in, the kitchen has been creatively designed and has a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The dining table is perfectly positioned to enjoy a meal together and plan your day’s activities. After a full day of exploring, relax on the sofa, snuggle up and watch your favourite film on the Smart TV and maybe light the wood burner for cosy nights in. When the night draws in, head off to the king-size bedroom which has plenty of storage space for all of your belongings.

French doors open out to the enclosed lawn area which has seating, a picnic table and a BBQ area, perfect for those summer al fresco meals. There are sun loungers which you can relax on while reading a good book or enjoy a game of boules or croquet with the sets provided. We had a great week at the cottage. It is well equipped, the garden is lovely and our two dogs loved running around it. Cath the owner was very helpful, always there if you need her but not in your face all the time. We would definitely recommend her place for a nice peaceful stay.
