For lovers of the great outdoors and its many pursuits, a stay in this private estate in the Brecon Beacons National Park is sure to please, with waymarked walking trails, water sports’ opportunities at Llangorse Lake and so many historical sights to discover, including the National Showcaves Centre.

The light, bright living room with a charming wood burner at its heart creates a cosy setting where you can curl up on the sofa with your loved one for a romantic film night or sit peacefully and read a book from the shelf. Cook up a feast for breakfast, lunch and dinner in the compact kitchen which has been cleverly designed to utilise the space and offer an intimate dining area for two on the minimalist-style table. The bedroom features a fabulous king-size bed with dual-aspect windows and built-in storage. Completing the property is the contemporary bathroom which boasts a bathtub and a separate shower where you can relax with views out over the estate through the window. A door from the kitchen leads out into the pretty enclosed garden which boasts a selection of herbs which you can use whilst cooking on the BBQ, as well as a table and chairs for an evening dining alfresco.

Within the estate, you are welcome to take a dip in the cool waters of the River Usk wild swimming or wander through the wildflower meadow where you’ll be greeted by the hum of wildlife and the sweet scent of flowers during the summer months. Once you’ve explored the beauty of the grounds, travel 6 miles to the market town of Brecon to indulge in life as a local, exploring the independent shops and stopping off for a bite to eat in one of the quirky cafes. For an underground adventure, the National Showcaves Centre (13 miles) is a fascinating place where you can burrow beneath the surface and explore the deep pathways and history within.

Really easy to find lovely location plenty of safe enclosed areas to exercise our dog he loved playing with his ball in the wooded area outside the front door.The cottage was very clean and everything was provided that you would need.

We had a lovely week at Abercamlais Lodge, despite the rain! The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need for a good holiday. The surroundings are beautiful- stunning scenery and lots of interesting places to explore. We had a fantastic stay at this 5 star lodge. Its prefect in every way, well equipped and a huge secure garden for dog. The owners are very welcoming and the estate to walk around is gorgeous. We will definitely return.

A delightful cottage in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, newly refurbished. Not a fault to find throughout. Incredible value for money. A definite place to stay if exploring the beacons. Great wood stove to dry off any clothes and keep things warm. Highly recommended!

Abercamlais Lodge is a perfect home-from-home. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and we loved the fact that our dog was not forgotten with a welcome basket all of his own. The lodge is one of the best places we have stayed in, the location is beautiful and very quiet but only a short journey to a pub which served food, it was spotless clean, everything you would need in the kitchen, the breakfast basket was a nice surprise and very thoughtful, would definitely return

A charming cottage, in a perfect location. The owners made us feel welcome. We did not know the area and found the folder very useful. Our dog came with us and he settled immediately, we could leave the doors open knowing he was safe. Will certainly will be looking to return.

What a beautiful place to stay. Everything you needed in the lodge was available. They have thought of all those little bits you need without realising you needed them. Walking around the estate was great. Beautiful cottage with everything you could need and very secure for dogs. The grounds are beautiful to wonder round and the view from the close by trig point is phenomenal. We loved Abercamlais Lodge. The Lodge has recently been refurbished internally bringing it up to date whilst still keeping some original features.
