Escape to rural splendour and enjoy the bubbling warmth of a hot tub and the rasp of gin and tonic sliding across your taste buds in your cosy abode that sleeps six. Positioned within the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains, Corwen is a fairytale town best known for its links to legend and folklore, but what makes it really special is the tapestry of pastures, woodland and hills on the horizon, forming a scenic backdrop for your stay.
Characterised by exposed beams, stripped floorboards and flagstone floors, the property exudes period charm in abundance. Embrace the atmosphere and creature comforts from the moment you step inside, whether you are curling up by the wood burner in the lounge or rustling up a fabulous meal in the kitchen/diner, which also has a wood burner. Wake up to morning coffee in the sunroom, and round off the day playing with the football table in the utility/games room. There are four bedrooms upstairs, one of which has zip-and-link beds that can be a super-king-size on request. There are two stylish bathrooms, and there is an en-suite shower room attached to one of the bedrooms. Outside, the wood-fired hot tub is the star of the show in the established garden, and you can admire the marvellous views over the valley and river.
A haven for walkers with lots of cafes, restaurants and other eateries to tempt you, you’ll soon lose yourself amongst the bustling streets and countryside trails. Clocaenog Forest is 7 miles away on foot or by bike, and you can spot elusive red squirrels and ancient stone circles as you go. The gateway towns of Betws-y-Coed and Bala offer an exciting introduction to Snowdonia National Park within 23 miles, and you can also tuck into delicious local fare for good measure.
