Treat your family and friends to a fabulous group break when you stay at this impressive, converted barn in Mid Wales. Sleeping 20 guests, the substantial, five-bedroom holiday home sits in approximately 30 acres of farmland, close to Bettws Cedewain, 3 miles from Newtown. With animals including alpacas and pygmy goats to see, guests are welcome to wander the grounds, as well as to enjoy their own private gardens.
Open the door to the barn, which has a reverse-level design, then head upstairs to find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with French windows at one end that open to a Juliet balcony. Prepare great feasts in the kitchen for your group then call everyone to sit down at the long table to dine together. Play games of charades, relax on the sofas in front of the Smart TV and challenge each other to table football. The bedroom and bathroom accommodation is at ground-floor level. This includes five bedrooms, each with two super-king-size zip-and-link beds that can also be arranged as twins if discussed in advance. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom while the others have en-suite shower rooms. There is also a family shower room and a utility room. Fire up the BBQ outside to cook tasty meals for your group in the fresh air. Watch the children and any canine companions play in the lawned garden or in the paddock and pour the adults a glass of chilled wine to enjoy on the patio as the sun goes down on summer evenings.
Keen walkers can strike out into the surrounding Welsh Marches from the barn or venture 9.5 miles to Montgomery to pick up Offa’s Dyke Path. Visit Newton to potter in the shops and see the remains of a medieval motte and bailey castle.
