Enjoy a break away by the coast at this bright and airy family home boasting sea views and a dense woodland teeming with wildlife and beauty. Venture into the charming Italian village of Portmeirion (6 miles) for a day out and you’ll find pastel-coloured buildings, intricate architecture and a deep, whimsical woodland all waiting to be explored.
Step through the hall and find your way through to the dual-aspect living room/diner where you can sink into one of the two sumptuous sofas and relax. Turn on the TV to watch a film or pick a book off the bookshelf and make the most of the natural light which pours through the windows, or gaze out at the gorgeous woodlands beyond. With seating for six, the dining area provides a place for the family to gather together, be it for a games night or a celebratory meal. The chef of the group will love the kitchen, with chic cabinets, an island and all the equipment you could need to cook up a meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Come rain or shine, the conservatory is a perfect place to find peace with two comfortable sofas to sprawl out across and pretty views from every angle. Upstairs are two bedrooms, one a tasteful double with a calming ambience for a good night’s sleep, and the other a twin which is well suited to children. Completing the property is the family bathroom with a large bathtub and a shower overhead. The conservatory offers access to the outside area where you’ll find a patio table and chairs as well as a lovely stretch of lawn surrounded by towering trees to give a feeling of privacy.
From the village of Morfa Bychan, you can visit a whole host of interesting places to visit, both on the coast and in the countryside. Travel 2 miles to Porthmadog to soak up the atmosphere by the harbour and search out a fine local eatery for a tasty treat, or pack up a picnic for a day at the blissful beach of Borth Y Gest (1 mile) where you can join a stretch of the coast path, soaking up the rugged views along the way. For an adventure, head inland to the Cwmorthin Waterfall (13 miles) where you’ll find truly spectacular scenery on a meandering walk, particularly if you make it to the peak of the fall for a panoramic viewpoint of Snowdonia National Park.
