Plan a rural Welsh adventure within the Brecon Beacons National Park at this luxury barn conversion, located in a tranquil spot with mountainous views all around. It’s on the edge of a sleepy hamlet, with a welcoming pub 1 mile away and plenty more amenities 5 miles away in Crickhowell. Accommodating groups of six and up to two dogs, it’s perfect for a family of fresh-air lovers or a group of friends wishing to explore this popular part of Wales.

This five-star accommodation blends traditional charm with modern comforts, with its lovely stone structure and beautifully decorated interior. Whether you’re lounging on the sofa watching a film on the Smart TV, or lowering yourself into the hot tub for a pre-breakfast soak, the backdrop of spectacular vistas will have a soothing and relaxing effect. The dining area sets you up for family gatherings, while the breakfast bar in the kitchen is tailor-made for snacks and morning coffees. Outside, the patio area invites you to kick back in the fresh air, perhaps sizzling up an evening feast on the BBQ or reading a few chapters of your novel in the sunshine.

There’s so much to do nearby, with Llangorse Lake a great starting point for sporty activities like paddleboarding, rowing and sailing. Further afield, popular areas worth exploring are the Sugar Loaf walk and the scenic Clydach Gorge, a steep-sided valley featuring hiking, scrambling and waterfall walks (both 12 miles). Or, take a low-key approach to your trip and wander around pretty market towns like Brecon (13 miles), home to a 1930s cinema and a medieval castle, and Hay-on-Wye (16 miles), known for its bookshops and annual literary festival.
