A spacious converted corn mill surrounded by 5 acres of gardens is the perfect spot for a get-together of families or friends planning to explore the beautiful Wye Valley. Sleeping 12 guests, the period property stands in the rural hamlet of Rudhall and dates back to 1795, with original beams throughout. The mill grounds include a large lake with an island and a fine arboretum. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it has a wealth of glorious river and rural paths within easy reach, while the lively market town of Ross-on-Wye is just 2 miles distant.

This welcoming property offers six bedrooms and five bathrooms. The ground floor houses a family kitchen/breakfast room and a formal dining room. This leads to the comfortably furnished lounge, with double doors opening onto a suntrap terrace, giving lovely garden and lake views. In the basement, a large games room, bunk beds for children up to 16, and a shower room provide a great space for youngsters. The first and second floors feature five luxurious bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite and four doubles. Outside, the terrace has garden furniture, a fire pit and a BBQ, with other delightful sitting areas throughout the grounds, plus storage for canoes and kayaks.

Ross-on-Wye has twice-weekly markets selling local produce, as well as a great range of independent, specialist shops, cafes and restaurants. Much of the town is a conservation area—take the heritage trail to see historic buildings dating back to the 16th century. Explore ancient woodland with walking and cycle trails in the Forest of Dean (9 miles) and enjoy spectacular views across the Wye Valley from Symonds Yat (8.5 miles), and the battlements of medieval Goodrich Castle (7 miles).

A lovely, well equipped house perfect for a big family reunion. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas which was much appreciated. Ian was very helpful and was at the end of the phone to sort out any problems we encountered.
