Whisk your partner away for a tranquil stay in this gorgeous rustic retreat in the south Welsh countryside. This former goats’ shed was previously occupied by artists, and it’s easy to see why, with the inspirational scenery surrounding it. Spend your days immersing yourself in nature, perhaps spotting local wildlife including red squirrels then enjoying a slap-up meal in a rustic pub. Then settle down for the evening in your colourful and enchanting hideaway, spending a while stargazing in your private garden before drifting off to a deep and satisfying sleep.

This quirky abode is filled with intriguing artwork and stylish and colourful touches to feed your imagination, from the pretty kitchen tiles to the lovingly upcycled furniture. The open-plan living area is a haven for relaxation, with triple-aspect windows revealing fabulous views, plenty of sofa space and a Smart TV with Amazon Prime. Prepare a slap-up meal for your loved one in the well-equipped kitchen, then light a candle and sit down for a romantic feast with some delicious wine. If it’s a bit oer (cold), spark up the wood burner to create some cosy warmth. A spiral staircase leads you down to your delightful king-size bedroom, which has French doors that frame charming views. The property is located on an acre of land and offers two private garden spaces, starting with the magical elevated deck, equipped with a table, chairs, sun loungers and a charcoal BBQ. The lower garden has a patio, table and chairs – also ideal for lunching al fresco.

The market town of Tregaron, 9.5 miles away, contains plenty of pretty pubs, inviting restaurants and independent shops for you to explore. Keen to absorb some history and culture? Head to the Dolaucothi Gold Mines (8 miles), the Red Kite Centre and Museum (9 miles) or the Welsh Quilt Centre (10.5 miles) and learn more about this appealing part of Wales. For a coastal day out, drive 23.5 miles to the Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron, where you’ll find a picturesque seafront and be able to access the Ceredigion Coast Path.

Excellent property throughout, Lovely hosts, its very remote, peaceful, wonderful wildlife on the doorstep, in a dark sky area, evening displays were awesome, and good local walks.

My partner and I had the most amazing week away from normality. The Goat shed was beautiful, the decor was so unique and comforting. The location and scenery was unbelievable, very secluded with lots of sheep far and wide. Our hosts thought of everything we might have needed, they even provided a folder of suggested walks and information about the Read morelocal area. Highly recommend the Goat shed to anyone thinking of getting away for a while. Hide
